Columbus Dive Club conducted a BIG BOAT TRAINING COURSE lead by our Captain Anthony Evangelista who trained them well .
They just completed the last module of current ' Big Boat Training' course over the past two (2) days, with an overnight trip from Puerto Galera (PG) to Anilao, Mabini and return to PG', with the trainees fully in charge of the boat. It was a fabulous sail there and back, with 'champagne' conditions on both days. Good boat anchorage out in front of Caza Azul Resort. ⛵⛵⛵

Such a lovely day around Muelle Bay last Saturday, aboard SV Columbus, as our guests Seha and two other on-board chilled-out doing swimming, snorkeling and beach BBQ in one of the local beach Kubos. Muelle Bay really is the most beautiful Bay in the world, especially when viewing from the water - so book your dream day out on the water :)

It was a very pleasurable day this past Friday' as Daniele and Massiniliano (very experienced divers) from Italy booked a dive trip to Verde Island, for two (2) dives there. The weather and ocean conditions for the day were nice, with less than usual ocean currents and the underwater conditions were simply fabulous. To top it off, we all enjoyed a wonderful motor-sail back to PG.

We welcomed an international party of eleven (11) new members, for a Fun Day Package aboard SV Columbus this past Sunday. Activities for the day included: boat tour, swimming, dive-hookah apparatus instruction, snorkeling and beach-kubo BBQ lunch at Long Beach. A fabulous day, thoroughly enjoyed by all :).

Beautiful day out on the ocean today aboard SV COLUMBUS, with lovely weather and lighter winds, as we completed the next 'Big Boat Training' module - Sailing & Racing Simulation, from Muelle Moorings out and around Bonito & Chicken Feather Islands and back to Haligi Beach. We anchored along the way at a serene spot at the back for Bonito, for a delicious BBQ and some relaxation.

Over past couple of days new Member, Nick from France completed his PADI Open Water course, and also new Member, Kate from UK came along for Fun Dive yesterday (after previously completing her PADI Advanced Open Water course with us). Glorious weather and diving conditions.

Our current international guests successfully completed their PADI Advanced Open Water courses tonight, with three (3) dives today, including deep dives (nitrox) and night dives. We hope to see you again Floris and Kate. Tomorrow (and over this weekend) we start a PADI Open Water course.

Today, Floris from Australia / UK and Kate from the UK, started their PADI Advanced Open Water Diver courses (Nick from the UK / Australia will also start his PADI Open Water course this coming Good Friday), with us aboard SV Columbus - with Captain Tabo and Mark the Deck Master, along with Eloy our Dive Club assistant looking after us all.

Excellent day yesterday, aboard SV Columbus, doing three (3) dives locally (La Laguna, Manila Channel and Coral Gardens), with lady guest, Soraya from Thailand, and also a couple from Germany - snorkeling. The water was super clear with brilliant sunshine - simply a fabulous day all-round.

We had a wonderful 'adventure dive' package trip yesterday, on SV Columbus, based on our package recommendation, with a lovely visiting foreign yacht couple, travelling across to the Northern coastline of Verde Island. Brilliant sunshine but with a stiff breeze and choppy sea surace conditions. Underwater was super clear with prolific marine life, completing two (2) dives, and then returning to PG.

Yesterday, with beautiful weather and ocean conditions, we undertook a dual-activity aboard SV Columbus. Leaving the PG mooring at 9am, traveled across to Verde Island, anchored at the northern tip for a lucious BBQ and then proceeding right around Verde Island - anti clockwise, and then back to PG mooring, doing Big Boat Training - the 'Ocean Trek' module.

While we were over at Verde Island, as part of our Philippines Coast Guard duties, we surveyed the ocean for any signs of oil spilling / slicks - none sighted, meeting up with the Batangas Coast Guard vessel at the BBQ location.

Also, we scoped-out some dive sites and anchorages on the northern side of Verde Island.

We had 2 guests on-board from Germany.

Being a 'community-driven organization' here in Puerto Galera' our staff here at CDC are all Philippines Coast Guard Auxiliary Officers. As well, our unique dive vessel 'SV Columbus' is now registered with the Philippines Coast Guard, as an (all-weather) Search & Rescue Vessel', to help others in distress or harms' way out in the oceans surrounding Batangas and Puerto Galera. Your safety is always our highest priority at CDC.

another successful boat-training trip undertaken aboard 'SV COLUMBUS' this past Wednesday, with the group completing their 'Safety' and 'Anchoring' training modules. A demanding day, as these are highly technical and important subjects. After initial showers, the weather was wonderfully sunny, with about 15knts of breeze and clear ocean, and everyone enjoyed a delicious BBQ aboard, in-between the two modules.

Next week we are doing a dive trip and also a trip around Verde Island, so give us a call and join us for a spectacular experience.
