Story time:

Around 10:16am this morning, nagchat dito sa page itong si “Janette Mendrez” aka “scammer”

“Good morning po jan sa pinas! Can I order po for today jan sa pinas ? I'm using western union online transfer, pwede ako mag transfer sa GCash or paymaya po. Thank you!”

So ayun, inentertain na po namin.

4 Barkada size pa nga ang nais, kaya umabot sa P2000+ ang total bill.

Maayos sya kausap kaya mapapaniwala ka talaga na legit customer sya. Sabi ba naman, “isettle ko rin po agad 🙂”

To make it short, nagsend na sya ng details ng drop-off location:

“Mark Mendrez (Brother kuno niya)
09695143401
Location: Earl De Princesa Hotel”

Then after namin syang i-inform regarding sa total bill niya, may sinend syang link, at ang sabi niya:

“20 minutes authentication lang po yan bago mag expire. 4 authentications po yan that you need to complete po. click that and authenticate it po after that it will reflect on your gcash instantly. pasuyo nalang po agad. Thank you!”

So, on this part, di pa kami naghihinala, binuksan namin yung link and nagfill-out. We STOP filling-out the form nung OTP na ang hinihingi. Dito na namin sya sinearch sa Facebook at nakitang may mga nabiktima na nga sya. (Grabe sobrang nakakapanlumo at nakakaawa na may mga taong lumalaban ng patas, tapos mananakawan lang ng ganun-ganun na lang)

Di pa muna kami nagpahalata, nainip na si scammer at sinabing, “hello po, maeexpire na po ang authentication, assist ko nalang po kayo” sabay send ng link kung saan kami tumigil sa pagfill-out, which is yung OTP na na part.

So, nagtanong kami “para saan po yung OTP?”

Sagutin ba naman ng, “basically parang naglogin lang po kayo jan”

Tapos, ito ang reply namin, “pretending” na di pa rin namin alam na scammer sya”

“Marami na po kaming transactions na bank transfer to GCash ma’am. Ngayon lang po kami hiningian ng OTP, bakit po kaya? Baka po pwede ma’am, cash on delivery na lang po”

Di na nagreply si ante mong scammer 😆

Again, mag-iingat po ang lahat at LAGING TANDAAN na kapag ikaw ang receiver (sa GCASH), wala ng dapat na hingiin sayo kundi Gcash number at Name mo lang. Kapag may OTP na na hinihingi KABAHAN ka na talaga. Trust your instinct, ika nga nila.

Yun lang po, hope this small act helps a lot!
