You understand how irritating it can be to feel like you're making no progress when your knee (or any other joint) still hurts after months of rest if you've ever had to put off doing things you love for months at a time due to discomfort.

Sadly, not all injuries get better with rest.

Tendinosis, also known as degenerative tendinopathy, is the most typical.

Chronic inflammation causes the tendon to begin to deteriorate in degenerative tendinopathy.

Tendons, like cables, have strands of collagen running in the same direction. Degenerative tendinopathy causes disorganized strands, resembling a haystack. However, rehab can help, focusing on movement and loading rather than rest.

Tempo heavy movements like back squats, for the knee example, (4 sec down 3 sec hold 4sec up) and avoiding high impact movements like running.
