🌟 In the clinic, I always see parents struggling to parent their children. Aside from the medical advice that I share with them as their Pedia, I think this manifesto is another approach that is worthy of doing.

🌟 I chanced upon this while listening to Oprah's podcast with her as her guest.

🌟 Truly, parenting is difficult. Rather than trying to be the "perfect parent" which does not exist,
being vulnerable, being more open with your children and being more honest with ourselves is an admirable approach.

🌟 As Brene Brown shared, "Who we are and how we engage with the world are much stronger predictors of how our children will do than what we know about parenting."

🩺 WHY receive the FLU vaccine annually?
Influenza (seasonal FLU) is a potentially serious disease that can lead to hospitalization and sometimes even death. Flu can mean a few days of feeling bad and missing work, school, or family events, or it can result in more serious illness.

🩺WHO are at higher risk for developing serious complications from FLU?
1. Children younger than 2 years old
2. Children with Neurologic and Neurodevelopmental conditions and other medical conditions
3. Children on long-term aspirin or salicylates
4. Adults 65 years and older
5. Adults with chronic health conditions (Asthma, COPD, Heart Disease & Stroke, Diabetes, Chronic Kidney Disease, Liver Disease, Obesity, Blood Disorders, Leukemia, with weakened immune system due to disease or medications, etc)
6. Pregnant and up to 2 weeks post-partum

🩺WHO should get the FLU vaccine?
ALL PERSONS AGED 6 MONTHS AND OLDER are recommended for annual flu vaccination.

🩺WHO are also recommended to get the FLU vaccine?
Household contacts and caregivers of children under 5 years and adults aged 50 years and older and those with medical conditions.

🩺WHO should not get the FLU vaccine?
1. Children younger than 6 months of age
2. People who have had a severe allergic reaction to a dose of a FLU vaccine

🩺IF I have egg allergy, should I still get the FLU vaccine?
People with a history of egg allergy of any severity should receive the FLU vaccine. If with a history of severe allergic reaction to egg, they should be vaccinated under the supervision of a health care provider who is able to recognize and manage severe allergic conditions.
