Philippine Journal of Fisheries, a Scopus-listed journal, publishes the research paper of OLFU Quezon City Biology Alumni.

Funded by the Research Development and Innovation Center (RDIC), the research entitled "𝘘𝘶𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘧𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘰𝘧 𝘏𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘦 𝘊𝘰𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘐𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘧𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘰𝘧 𝘏𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘦-𝘍𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘉𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘢 𝘪𝘯 𝘉𝘶𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘵 𝘛𝘶𝘯𝘢" by BS Biology alumni: Sophia Delos Santos, Jamil Allen Fortaleza, Gelian Bastian, El-jay Managuelod, Jimson Deyta, and Daniel Lance Nevado is garnering recognition and is now set to be published.

Under the guidance of their research advisor Rener De Jesus, with leadership from Dr. Ramonita Salazar, OLFU Quezon City Campus Administrator, and support from Zandra Tolentino-Salut, Program Head of the Biology Department, the research represents a significant contribution to the ongoing discussion on this topic.

In accordance with Republic Act No. 7596, the 2nd of September of every year celebrates Nueva Ecija Day and, thus, declared as a Special Non-working Holiday in the said province.

In line with this, note that synchronous classes (in-person and online) and asynchronous activities in OLFU Nueva Ecija are hereby suspended on September 2, 2024.

On the other hand, to accommodate transactions, inquiries, and other concerns, the offices of the Registrar, Student Financial Services (SFS), and Admissions will remain open on this day.

𝗢𝗟𝗙𝗨 𝗶𝘀 𝗰𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝟮𝟯𝗿𝗱 𝗯𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝟯𝟲𝟰 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 by the Cybernetics Lab of Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC), in the July 2024 release of the "Webometrics Ranking of World Universities".

The Webometrics Ranking, which began in 2004 (now in its 21st year of publication), aims to provide comprehensive coverage of higher education institutions, regardless of country or discipline. Currently, it ranks 32,000 higher education institutions from more than 200 countries.

Coming from a directive released by local government units owing to the continued onslaught of strong rains, please be guided by the following:

1. OLFU Valenzuela
Both face-to-face and online synchronous classes across all levels are suspended on August 28th. Students are to focus on asynchronous activities from their respective homes such as but not limited to homework, readings, review, research, or projects.

2. OLFU Quezon City
Face-to-face classes are hereby suspended across all levels on August 28th. Instead, all students must attend online synchronous classes from their respective homes.

F2F Class Suspension
OLFU Antipolo and Laguna Tuesday, 20 August 2024

The LGUs of Antipolo and Laguna have suspended face-to-face classes across all levels on August 20th to guard against the ill effects of the smog from the Taal Volcano.

In keeping with this directive, OLFU Antipolo and Laguna students will shift to online synchronous classes from their respective residences.

However, all offices in both campuses will remain fully operational.

𝗛𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗔𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗤𝘂𝗲𝘇𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘀:

19 August 2024 has been declared as a Special Non-working Holiday in Quezon City in commemoration of the 146th birth anniversary of former President Manuel L. Quezon.

In line with this, note that OLFU Quezon City's synchronous classes (in-person and online) and asynchronous activities for Basic Education Department and Senior High School students are hereby suspended on August 19th.

On the other hand, to accommodate transactions, inquiries, and other concerns, the offices of the Registrar, Student Financial Services (SFS), and Admissions will remain open on the said day, while the QC Campus' OLFU Concierge services will likewise be active online.

Suspension of Synchronous Classes
Thursday, 20 June 2024 for the OLFU Nueva Ecija Campus

In line with the scheduled City-Wide Power Interruption in the City of Cabanatuan, OLFU Nueva Ecija will suspend all its Synchronous Classes on Thursday, 20 June 2024.

Instead, college students will do asynchronous activities as directed by their teachers on this day.

Meanwhile, all offices will remain fully operational at the campus. The OLFU Concierge will remain accessible online.
