A remarkable achievement as the first Higher Education Institution (HEI) from the MIMAROPA region to be internationally recognized, contributing significantly to Quality Education. Since 2020, there has been a notable increase in the number of Philippine HEIs participating and ranking in the THE Impact Rankings, reflecting our commitment to global academic excellence and Reduced Inequalities.

In 2020, the number of ranked universities was much smaller, but it has grown significantly over the years. In 2022, 15 Philippine universities were included, a substantial increase from previous yearsโ€‹ (PNA.gov.ph)โ€‹, signifying progress toward Decent Work and Economic Growth as well. By 2023, the number of Philippine universities in the THE Impact Rankings rose to 29, further showcasing the country's growing commitment to global academic excellenceโ€‹ (Philstar.com)โ€‹ and emphasizing the importance of Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure in our education sector.

This achievement highlights the growing engagement and dedication of Philippine Higher Education Institutions in pursuing global standards of excellence and fostering Partnerships for the Goals.

Chairman Prospero De Vera has been a steadfast advocate throughout this journey. His strategic leadership has played a crucial role in guiding and inspiring Philippine universities to seek international recognition and elevate their academic and research profiles on the global stage.

CHED MIMAROPA celebrate the outstanding achievement of Romblon State University ranking #261 in the 2024 Worldโ€™s Universities with Real Impact (WURI) Global Top 300 Innovative Universities.

Romblon State University (RSU) has achieved a remarkable milestone by becoming the first higher education institution in the MIMAROPA region to be included in the WURI Global Top 300 Innovative Universities. This prestigious recognition, announced for 2024, places RSU at rank #261, highlighting its innovative approaches and significant contributions to education and sustainable development.

This historic achievement is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and innovative spirit of RSUโ€™s faculty, students, and administration under the visionary leadership of University President Merian Catajay-Mani, Ed.D. Being the first in MIMAROPA to join the ranks of the worldโ€™s most innovative universities is a proud moment not only for the university but also for the entire region. It showcases the potential and excellence of MIMAROPAโ€™s educational institutions on a global platform.

RSU has excelled in three key areas that contributed to its high ranking, Industrial Application (Rank #24), Generative AI Application (Rank #29), Symbol and Promotion (Rank #33).

This success is greatly supported by the efforts of Dr. J. Prospero E. De Vera III, Chair of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED). His leadership has been instrumental in leveling the playing field for higher education institution (HEI) rankings in the Philippines. Under his guidance, Philippine HEIs have become more collaborative, fostering an environment of shared knowledge, resources, and innovation. This collaborative spirit has been pivotal in enhancing the overall quality and global competitiveness of Philippine higher education.

RSUโ€™s inclusion in the WURI rankings also underscores its commitment to sustainable development goals (SDGs). Through innovative educational practices, research, and community engagement, RSU is playing a crucial role in addressing global challenges such as quality education, industry innovation, and sustainable communities. Their initiatives align with the SDGs, fostering a better and more sustainable future for all.

The recognition from WURI is just the beginning for RSU. This achievement sets a new standard for higher education in MIMAROPA and serves as an inspiration for other institutions in the region to strive for excellence and innovation. RSUโ€™s success story is a powerful reminder of the transformative power of education and its impact on society.

Romblon State Universityโ€™s historic entry into the WURI Global Top 300 Innovative Universities is a proud moment for the MIMAROPA region and the entire country. This achievement highlights RSUโ€™s dedication to innovation, excellence, and sustainable development under the leadership of President Merian Catajay-Mani, Ed.D. and the support from Chairman Dr. J. Prospero E. De Vera III. As RSU continues to pave the way for future generations, it stands as a beacon of hope and progress, demonstrating that with vision and determination, great accomplishments are within reach.

Congratulations to Romblon State University on this outstanding achievement! Keep up the incredible work! ๐ŸŒ๐ŸŽ“โœจ
