Started in 2012 as LEED Coordinator in the Alphaland Makati Place project, Arch. Lily Carating-Castro is one of the Environmental Sustainability Officers of DATEM, involved in constructing green building projects.

Green buildings are structures with very efficient use of energy and water, a structure that uses materials that were responsibly harvested, manufactured, and transported, providing each end-user with comfort when it comes to temperature, lighting, and noise and certified by green building rating system/s.

For her, the inspiring part of her work “is not just contributing to having a healthier and resource-efficient built environment for the developers and end users or tenants of the building, but also provides a safe, positive, and healthy working environment for the workers and employees during construction.”

With her experience, she became a GrEEEn Accredited Design Professional and Accredited Assessor (ADP+AA) and accredited in PhilGBC Health and Well-Being for Buildings Accredited Professional (PHW) in 2021.

Recognizing the risks caused by climate change, DATEM intensifies its nature-based actions to mitigate hazards while it forwards development through its green building and infrastructure projects.

DATEM is ISO-certified!

The ISO certifying body, TÜV Rheinland Philippines, conferred DATEM with the following: ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System (QMS), ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System (EMS), and ISO 45001:2018 Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS), commending the company's integrated management system’s (IMS) adequate implementation and compliance with ISO standards.

Cyberpark 3 tops off 🏢🖐

DATEM, with Araneta Group, held a topping off ceremony for the P5-billion office and commercial tower in Araneta City, the Cyberpark 3.

In this project, DATEM worked closely with the Araneta Group to achieve its sustainable features. This is the 10th green building to be constructed by .

Nurse John, of the Offices at The Galleon Project, shares his experiences as a project nurse on site primarily focused on health and wellness of employees and workers on site.

His contribution on ensuring safety in construction site was recognized when he was named as one of the Ten Outstanding Safety Practitioners by the Safety Organization of the Philippines (SOPI) and the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Occupational Safety and Health Center.

He says, “Pinili kong maging occupational health nurse, kasi in this field, our values are focused sa holistic preventive care and health promotion sa mga employee, worker, at sa workplace.”

Janwell is currently working as Project Manager in the Residences at The Galleon project, his 7th project in working for DATEM for 10 years. He recounted how he juggled work and being a father to his kids. “Umabot sa point na naglalakad ako mula bahay para lang makarating sa trabaho, pero hindi ako pinanghinaan ng loob. Itinuloy ko yung laban para din samin ng mga anak ko.”

For him, sympathy and empathy are important values for a leader—to wear your colleagues shoes and know when and where to intervene to inspire them to excel and improve.

In his anecdote, he shared the most touching story he heard when he was interacting with his workers—a story of how a construction worker father strived and was able to have his children finish college and help provide for the family.

“Ang sarap ng feeling na yun, na lagi kang blessed sa mga naging kasama mo, at naging tulay ka para makuha or ma-attain nung mga anak nila yung achievements na hinahangad ng mga magulang nila na nagtatrabaho ngayon dito sa DATEM.”

Ortigas Land, DATEM celebrate Offices at The Galleon topping off - BusinessWorld Online World-class developer Ortigas Land and top-notch contractor DATEM recently marked the topping off milestone in the construction of the Offices at the Galleon project in Pasig City.

DATEM supported the recently concluded Philippine Sustainability Forum organized by the Italian Chamber of Commerce in the Philippines.

Along with these, an occupational health practitioner was hailed as one of the Ten Outstanding Safety Practitioners and bagged a plaque of recognition.

DATEM’s Makati Commerce Tower project won the 2024 Philippine Excellence in Concrete Construction Awards (PECCA) for the high-rise structure category.

The construction of the Makati Commerce Tower utilized 55,548 cubic meters of concrete, solidifying the structure’s safety and resilient foundations. DATEM’s precast such as slabs, walls, and stairs were vital to attaining this achievement.

Makati Commerce Tower will be one of the official nominees of the Philippines to the American Concrete Institute (ACI) International Competition during the ACI Fall Convention in the USA.

DATEM Water, a subsidiary of DATEM Inc., celebrated this year’s Earth Day with a tree planting in Barangay Vivo, Tanglan, Aklan.

The tree planting initiative aims to contribute to watersheds’ sustainability while expanding awareness among the community of the importance of collaboration in forwarding environmental stewardship, such as planting trees.

DATEM employees are among the 5,596 participants in the record-breaking largest human lung formation held at Quirino Grandstand, Manila, on March 16.

This historic event, organized by the Department of Health (DOH),aimed to raise awareness about TB and eradicate the stigma surrounding the disease.
