DIALYSIS 101: ANO ANG IJ CATHETER?

✅ Ang HEMODIALYSIS ( http://bit.ly/hemodialysis01) ay isa sa mga paraan upang malunasan ang END-STAGE RENAL DISEASE at ang mga sintomas at kumplikasyon nito

✅ Sa pamamagitan ng HEMODIALYSIS, nililinis ng DIALYSIS MACHINE ang dugo ng pasyente para tanggalin ang mga naipong TOXIN at ACID na hindi na kayang tanggalin ng kanilang mga kidneys na may sakit.

✅ Upang magawa ang paglilinis ng dugo sa HEMODIALYSIS, kailangan magkaroon ng DIALYSIS ACCESS o daanan ng dugo kung saan dadaloy ang dugo mula sa katawan patungo sa dialysis machine at pabalik ulit ng katawan pagkatapos nitong malinis ng dialysis.

✅ Ang IJ CATHETER ay isa sa mga uri ng DIALYSIS ACCESS. Isa itong MALAKING SWERO na may DALAWANG LUMEN o TUBES:
- Ang PULANG PORT ay ang ARTERIAL LUMEN. Dito dunadaloy palabas ang dugo mula sa pasyente patungo sa dialysis machine
- Ang ASUL NA PORT ay ang VENOUS LUMEN. Dito dumadaloy ang dugo na nalinis ng dialysis pabalik sa pasyente

✅ Ang IJ catheter ay ikinakabit sa INTERNAL JUGULAR VEIN, isa sa mga malalaking ugat sa leeg gamit ang LOCAL ANESTHESIA at ULTRASOUND upang magabayan ang doktor na magkakabit nito. Isa itong MABILIS at LIGTAS na PROCEDURE lalo na kapag ginamitan ng ULTRASOUND.

✅ Ginagamit lamang ang IJ catheter sa mga sumusunod na sitwasyon:
- EMERGENCY HEMODIALYSIS at wala pang ibang DIALYSIS ACCESS ang pasyente
- HEMODIALYSIS sa pasyenteng hindi pa pwedeng gamitin ang FISTULA
- HEMODIALYSIS sa pasyenteng nasira o namatay ang FISTULA

✅ Ang IJ catheter ay TEMPORARY o PANSAMANTALANG access lamang. Hindi ito maaaring magtagal ng mahabang panahon dahil maaari itong magkaroon ng IMPEKSYON. Ginagamit lamang ito hanggang sa magkaroon na ng AV FISTULA ang pasyente, isang PERMANENT DIALYSIS ACCESS.

✅ Ang IJ catheter ay kailangan alagaan nang maigi. Ang DRESSING ay pinapalitan kada dialysis session. Siguraduhing huwag basain ang bahagi kung saan nakakabit ang catheter.
