Bilang pagdiriwang sa nalalapit na ika-70 taong anibersaryo ng Philippine Historical Association, magbabalik-tanaw tayo sa pinagdaanan ng pagsasakasaysayang Pilipino mula nang itatag ang samahan noong 1955 at gayundin, mag-aabot-tanaw tayo sa tunguhin nito. Nilalayon ng kumperensyang mag-ambag sa mga talastasan ukol sa mga historiograpiya ng kasaysayang Pilipino. Itatampok hindi lamang ang mga historiograpiya ng kasaysayang pambansa kundi ang mga historiograpiya ng kasaysayan ng iba’t ibang sektor panlipunang bumubuo sa pagkabansa.

This year's conference aims to achieve two objectives. Second, we aim to emphasize the critical role of statistics in solving real-world problems and informing decision-making processes toward sustainable and inclusive development.

The 2024 SFCON is organized by the UP School of Statistics, UPLB Institute of Statistics, Philippine Statistical Research and Training Institute, and Philippine Statistics Authority. It will be jointly conducted with the 2024 Regional Data Festival for South Luzon Cluster.

In this episode, we will talk about Filipino Resilience during disasters and calamaties. We will also dig into the improvement and changes in our resilience and disaster response and preparation. We will be joined by Jessica Dator-Bercilla from the National Resilience Council. This episode will be hosted by JP Dalupang from the Institute of Philippine Culture.

The program, Baka Naman Pwede?, is a knowledge dissemination initiative of the Institute of Philippine Culture that offers a culturally sensitive, critical, evidence-based, and down-to-earth analysis of contemporary social issues using a multidisciplinary social sciences approach. This initiative is premised upon the principle that knowledge creation and dissemination should be genuinely collaborative processes that provide space for multiple experiences, perspectives, and problem-solving approaches to be articulated, recognized, and applied.

PSSC once again congratulates Dr. Pia Patricia P. Tenedero for being the recipient of the 2024 Virginia A. Miralao Excellence in Research Award (VAMERA)! The award was conferred on 7 August 2024 at the University of Santo Tomas (UST).

The award-winning book titled, “Communication that Counts: Language Practice and Ideology in Globalized Accounting,” delves on the language and communication practices in accounting education and work in the Philippines.

Dr. Tenedero is an assistant professor at the UST Department of English, and the assistant director of the UST Research Center for Social Sciences and Education, a PSSC associate member.
