Eight teachers from each department fought for the throne and crown for the Ms. Valentine's title, which has been in the hands of the reigning Mrs. Mutya Vitstan Jimenez. Candidates showcased their talents and staggering beauty. Students and teachers had a fun night supporting their favorite teacher in the pageant and it surely made the night shine with vibrant colours. QHS English Dept closes English Month successfully; announces winners of contests Written By: Henry Ramirez Quirino High Schoolโs English Department successfully promoted reading as they closed the English Month Celebration with its announcement of winners in various contests during the virtual flag ceremony, Monday. The celebration revolved around its theme โReading creates opportunities in the midst of pandemicโ. They virtually held Araw ng Pagbasa on November 27 as part of its main advocacy on reading for the month. The Department held a total of 13 contests and numerous students have participated from both junior and senior high school levels. The First Place winners from the contests are Asher Lumaad, Book Face; Joy Alexa Rose Velasco, Search for the Best Instructional Video About Covid-19; Jamilla Luzane Paris, Story Telling; Gie Ann Aleagarbes, Extemporaneous Speech; Chelze Gallenero, Blog Making Contest; Daniela Michelle Salonga, Digitized Slogan Contest; Henrico Gabriel San Juan, Reading Proficiency; Joanah Grace Torda, Mandarin Singing Idol 2021; Julia Rene Berico, Literary Character Interpretation; Qwyncy Phoem Cabanatan, Literary Characters via TikTok; Spelling Bee, Rhoudge Gundran, Senior High School Category, Mark Ybrahim Ramos, Junior High School Category; Gabriel San Juan, Essay Writing Contest; Maโam Daisy Alvarez, Literary Icons. During the flag ceremony, Principal Officer-In-Charge Engr. Marc Voltaire Padilla, addressed the QHS Community, reminding teachers and students about the vaccination and encouraging them for better protection and for the schoolโs preparation for the possible limited face to face classes in January.
