It is the day of the Last Supper when Jesus instituted the Eucharist and washed His disciples’ feet in an exemplary act of love. The night of Maundy Thursday is the night on which Jesus was betrayed by Judas in the Garden of Gethsemane.

It also reminds us of Jesus’ sacrificial mandate to serve and love one another. In serving and loving others (even our enemies!), we not only bless another’s life but we bless our own as well. Most important of all, we honor the precious mandate given to us by our Lord, Jesus Christ, on this most solemn Maundy Thursday.
