Case: Entropion (Bilateral)

Entropion is an abnormality of the eyelids in which the eyelid rolls inward. This inward rolling often causes the hair on the surface of the eyelid to rub against the cornea resulting in pain, corneal ulcers, perforations, or pigment developing on the cornea which can interfere with vision. Entropion is considered a hereditary disorder. While the exact genetics are unknown, many breeds are identified as having this problem, including Chowchow.

Case: PYOMETRA (Pus-filled Uterus)

This is Cutie, one of the few young dogs who got infected with pyometra. She’s just 1 yr old. Fortunately, she’s okay now. 🐶

Pyometra is a bacterial infection of the uterus due to hormonal changes in unspayed dogs. It is reported primarily in dogs more than 5 years old.

The signs are variable and include lethargy, poor appetite, increased thirst and urination, and vomiting. A discharge of pus, often containing blood, is present (open cervix case). In closed cervix case, there is no discharge and the large uterus may cause abdominal enlargement. Signs can progress rapidly to shock and death.

Removal of the ovaries and uterus ("SPAYING"/Kapon) is the recommended treatment in most cases.

Case: Urolithiasis (Urinary bladder stone)

This is Willow, she underwent a cystotomy, a surgical procedure where urinary bladder stones are manually removed from the urinary bladder.
One of the common contributing factors that causes this kind of health issue is DIET. In Willow's case, she has been fed table food (with seasonings to enhance the flavor) since then. Kasi ayaw niya na kumain ng formulated, balanced diet dog food.
But Willow's furmom learned a lesson to never feed her again with table food with seasonings. Instead, a balanced diet will be served to Willow.

Willow's surgery was a success, and she's back to her normal self, a jolly and happy doggie.
Congrats, Willow! You're such a brave dog! 🐶

Case: Canine Transmissible Venereal Tumor

This amazing canine TVT warrior is named Choco. He had treatment for six weeks, and he conquered canine TVT. Now that his ge***al tumors have healed, he is living his best life possibly.

Transmissible venereal tumors are cancerous tumors of the ge***alia in dogs. The tumor cells are passed from dog to dog during breeding. They form cauliflower-like masses that range in size from small (less than 5 millimeters wide) to large (more than 10 centimeters wide). The surface is often ulcerated and inflamed and bleeds easily. The tumors may be single or multiple. Although they are almost always located directly on the ge***alia, they may be passed on to the adjacent skin or the mucous membranes of the mouth, nose, or eyes. Diagnosis is made by examining tumor cells under a microscope. Transmissible venereal tumors are usually progressive and are treated with a combination of surgical removal, chemotherapy, and radiation treatment. Of these, chemotherapy is generally considered the treatment of choice. The outlook for successful treatment is good, except in the rare cases in which the tumors have already spread within the body before treatment begins.
