South Poblacion NHS - Math & Science SChool proudly joins in the Nationwide Tree-planting initiative "𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗘𝗱 𝟮𝟯𝟲, 𝟬𝟬𝟬 𝗧𝗿𝗲𝗲𝘀 - 𝗔 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗺𝗮𝘀 𝗚𝗶𝗳𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻" organized by the Department of Education.

The effort aligns with the "𝗣𝗮𝗴𝗯𝗮𝗯𝗮𝗴𝗼: 𝗔 𝗠𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗧𝗿𝗲𝗲𝘀 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗴𝗻",
a collaboration between the Office of the Vice President, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), and DepEd.

This aims to cultivate seeds of hope, awareness, and service for our environment and common home. This also patronizes the values of responsibility and environment-mindedness among the Filipino Youth.

MATHSCI soars even higher! It is with great pride that we Congratulate our Learners and Teachers who participated in the 2023 GAD COMPLIANT DIVISION SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY FAIR FOR ELEMENTARY AND SECONDARY LEVELS held last October 23, 2023, at Buanoy National High School, Buanoy, Balamban, Cebu.

The event was participated by our team of student researchers, teacher coaches, and research observers from different levels. The delegation was led by the Public Schools District Supervisor of San Fernando 1, Dr. Joel B. Umbay, together with the Principal of SPNHS - Math & Science School, Dr. Olga C. Fernandez. Mr. Alfard Magdugo, School Head of Tananas Elementary School was also present with the delegation.

Last October 13, 2023, the Science and Technology Month culmiated with the Science Fair 2023. Spearheaded by the Science Department, the Science Fair was filled with different events, exciting science experiments, mind boggling contests, and awe-mazing fashion-forward runway presentation.

The event was made extra special with the presence of our special guests Mr. Genesis P. Seas, Municipal Tourism Officer of the Municipality of San Fernando, and Mr. Melton James Fernandez and Mr. Jay Zaspa from the Asian College of Technology.

South Poblacion NHS - Math & Science School celebrated the Science and Technology Month celebration with the Science Fair 2023. The Science Department, headed by the School Science Coordinator, Teacher Ivy Jessa C. Gabutin, together with the Science Teachers, Teacher Ayhra Janine B. Guangco, and Teacher Herasto P. Villaver III spearheaded the activities.
The series of events started with the kickoff ceremony held last October 02, 2023. Science Trivia Questions with exciting prizes await learners. The Science and Technology Month concluded with the Science Fair 2023 held last October 13, 2023, where learners and teachers participated in many activities.

The Science Fair 2023 featured the following activities:

Last September 22, 2023, South Poblacion NHS - Math & Science School held the Wellness Campus School-Based Program.
The Wellness Program aims to instill the healthy habits in the lifestyle of our learners and stakeholders. Bannering the theme: "Good Food, Good Life, for the Wealth of our Health", balanced diet, excercise, and a healthy lifestyle is promoted. Learners and their parents participated in the different activities.

Empowering future innovators through Education towards community betterment.

Scholars of Taiheiyo Cement Philippines Inc. (TCPI) and Solid Earth Development Corporation (SEDC) convened for the Scholarship Ceremony 2023 last September 16, 2023. The 19 scholars currently enrolled at South Poblacion NHS - Math & Science School attended the Ceremony. The program was graced with the presence of the TCPI and SEDC Executives led by their respective Presidents, Mr. Yoshihito Izawa (TCPI) and Ms. Maria Deeza Guzman (SEDC) The program was also graced with the presence of LGU Officials headed by Hon. Mayor Mytha Ann Canoy and Hon. Vice Mayor Ricci Regen Reluya. School Administrators also graced the event headed by Dr. Joel B. Umbay, the Public Schools District Supervisor of San Fernando 1.

In his Message, the President of TCPI instilled in our scholars the value of giving back to the country by responding to the challenges brought by time. Dr. Umbay in his message, said that challenges, however difficult they may be, are the stepping stones to success. The scholars then responded through a message of gratitude delivered by John Bernard Marababol, a grade 7 Del Mundo learner. Scholars who excelled in their academics in the school year 2022-2023 were then recognized and received gifts and certificates from TCPI and SEDC.

The program ended with a final performance by the South Poblacion NHS - Math & Science Scholars.

Last September 7, 2023, South Poblacion NHS - Math & Science School participated in the National Simulataneous Earthquake Drill organized by the NDRRMC. Ms. Christine Beleya, the DRR Focal Person of the school spearheaded the Earthquake Drill.

This earthquake drill aims to develop awareness and preparedness in all stakeholders of the school against the unpredictability of earthquakes. Having been situated among countries inside the Pacific Ring of Fire (known to have active volcanoes and earthquakes) this helps our learners prepare and act when an earthquake hits.

The first Homeroom and General PTA Assembly of South Poblacion NHS - Math & Science School was a success. Parents and Guardians of our learners came to discuss salient information on the conduct of classes, election of Homeroom PTA Officers, upcoming school activities, and many more.

During the General Assembly, Mr. Darwin Cadungog, PTA BOD President, together with Mrs. Marly Barro, PTA BOD Treasurer, presented the financial report of School Year 2022-2023. Dr. Olga C. Fernandez also discussed the improvement plans and projects of the school during the Opening Forum.

To our ever supportive parents and guardians, Daghang Salamat for the undying support. Let's collaborate more, and bring MathSci to greater heights!

Ang makulimlim at maulang’ hapon ay nabigyang liwanag at tagumpay nang dahil sa mga pakikilahok na mga g**o’t mag-aaral.

Ang pagbubukas ng Buwan ng Wikang Pambansa at Kasaysayan ay naglalayong maibahagi ang pagmamahal, pagpapahalaga at pagmamalaki sa Wikang Filipino at sa makulay na kasaysayan ng bansang Pilipinas.

Masasaksihan din ang iba pang paligsahan at pagtatanghal sa darating na Kulminasyon sa Buwang ng Wikang Pambansa at Kasaysan ngayong Agosto 31, 2023.
