One of humanity’s greatest medical achievements is the development of vaccination as it leads to immunization — protecting and saving millions of lives. However, despite being widely accepted as a public health measure, doubts about vaccines still exist among the public.

Vaccine hesitancy is mostly caused by the spread of misinformation and rapid global exchange of public concerns. The misperceptions about vaccines have been a trend in the Philippines; WHO (2019) estimated 2.6 million Filipino children under 5 years of age are at risk due to vaccine refusal.

With the current pandemic situation caused by a virus, it is critical to build public confidence and trust in vaccines. Once confidence is gained, it would be easier to maintain high-vaccine coverage rates, thus benefitting the community as a whole.

Along with the goal of gaining global trust in vaccines, we should also be reminded of the challenge that such vaccines should be accessible to everyone. It isn’t enough that we produce billions of doses if we don’t distribute the vaccines fairly. After all, this is a “global” concern, and no one is safe until everyone is.

Even with the modalities that are present to supposedly cater to different situations such as modular learning, things like data/wifi connection are still needed by students to fully grasp a lesson or answer activity.

This is why the Suguan Organization is created. In aiming to fill that gap, our mission is to help our fellow students access the best possible education that there can be, in the form of giving aid for load or data connection.

Suguan is by students, for students.
