NASA on Saturday shared a spectacular image of JO204, dubbed as the "jellyfish galaxy", located 600 million light-years away from earth.

In an Instagram post, NASA said that ram pressure stripping causes the bright tendrils beneath the galaxy to be visible.

"The same is true for JO204. The galaxy experiences pressure as it moves against the intergalactic medium that fills the spaces between galaxies in a galaxy cluster. As a result, the more loosely bound gas in the galaxy strips away into these tendrils," the space agency added. (Instagram/NASA)
