I received this question and variations of it thrice in a day.

And I think kaya ito tinatanong is because there are so many ways to say that living the 9-5 life “sucks”.

Pinakita ng pandemic how possible it is to make so much money from home. There’s trading, there’s freelancing, there’s selling - among other options.

Kaya nagkalat ang posts like “You will never become rich as an employee” at “Leave the 9-5 and own your life!”

Which made me think…

Ganon ba kasama maging empleyado?
Hindi ka ba talaga yayaman bilang empleyado?
Don’t you own your life if you’re an employee?

When I was younger, I used to preach about leaving the 9-5, too. But I learned something life-changing and crucial…

Above all else, YOUR definition of success is the most important.

How others define it is how THEY define it. You don’t have to follow that route. The way YOU define success is based on your own values, own beliefs, own goals. And if the path is corpo, then stay in corpo.

There are people who thrive working FOR a company.

There are people who thrive working WITH a company.

There are people who thrive working ON a company.

These three are completely different. You can have all of them at once, you can experience each of them at various times of your life. Either way, as long as you’re following your authentic path, authentic definition of success, authentic goals, then YOU WILL THRIVE.

Naniniwala ako na pinaka-yayaman ka sa kung saan ka pinaka-masaya.

The ONLY way for you to truly fail is to live your life following someone else’s way of living.
