City of San Pedro Disease Reporting Advocates (DRA) 2nd Annual Assembly and Awarding Ceremony 2024

Held yesterday June 21, 2024 at San Pedro Astrodome Brgy. Pacita 1, City of San Pedro

This event was made possible under the leadership of City Mayor Hon. Art Joseph Francis Mercado
and the guidance of the San Pedro City Health Office City Health Officer Dr. Robert R. Olivarez. In addition, The unit would like to thank the City of San Pedro DRRMO headed by Mr. Vernet Nico Pavino for their assistance in making this event successful.

The annual assembly was attended by (27) Barangays within the City of San Pedro, DepEd Medical Personnel, Laguna Provincial Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (PESU) and Laguna Provincial Department of Health Office (PDOHO). The purpose of the event is to ensure that the Barangay Health Stations (BHS) staff were equipped with the right knowledge in the detection and reporting of Notifiable Diseases and Health Events.

JUNE was declared Dengue Awareness Month (Proclamation No. 1204) since 1998 to highlight how prevention and control of dengue would require collaborative efforts among national and local government agencies and private NGOs.

In the spirit of awareness, the City Government of San Pedro, the San Pedro City Health Office and the San Pedro City Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit encourage everyone to follow simple but effective steps like Searching and destroying possible mosquito breeding sites, Self-Protection measures (applying mosquito repellent and wearing long sleeves in outdoor), Seek early consultation and Support fogging/spraying ONLY in hotspot areas to avoid being infected with the disease.
