Let’s talk about how we deal with the most annoying problem in piercings 😅

✨ piercing bumps ✨

Is it normal? Yes.
Does it hurt? It should not. Especially if you’re just letting it sit there and not touching it or doing anything to it.
Why do piercings often get them? It happens if your piercings were handled poorly after it was pierced - nasasagi, nagagalaw, ginagalaw, natatamaan, sumasabit and so on.

I get it, it’s a challenge to care for your piercings. Reason why it is a responsibility, and it is strongly advised that you need to care for it as if it is a wound that can get infected anytime, anywhere. 😅

As your piercer, will I get mad if you had those? Oh no, and will never be. 😌 It is part of the healing process, dear. Again, it’s NORMAL. And I would be more than happy to deal this with you.

Having these doesn’t mean that it’s infected. IT IS TRAUMATIZED AND IRRITATED due to active activities that creates frictions to your piercings and causes your piercings to form a bump which is sometimes unavoidable.

On the left, you have a piercing needle, and on the right you have a piercing gun stud that is used in a piercing gun (and other hand-pressure piercing devices).
Piercing needles are sharp and cause the least amount of damage when put through the skin. Once pierced, high-quality jewelry is inserted that will fit appropriately for the area based on your anatomy. Being pierced with a needle and quality jewelry reduces irritation and scarring so your piercing can heal properly and stay healthy for the long term! Though the piercing gun stud feels pointy, they are not very sharp at all. The studs are generally made with poor quality metal and are one-size-fits-all, which is not how bodies work as everyone has different anatomy. When this blunt jewelry is forced through the ear with the gun, it can cause blunt force trauma. This trauma can lead to a large amount of damage, especially in the cartilage, like bumps, prolonged discomfort, and poor healing, in which the end result is removal of the piercing.
It's no secret these days that piercing guns are unsafe and can cause significant damage to the tissue being pierced. So be smart when getting pierced! Visit your local piercing studio and support a piercing professional. You can even search for an APP member on our website using the member locator. Go to www.safepiercing.org.

Association of Professional Piercers (APP) based in USA is an organization wherein they educate piercers to be professional in every state of the country to provide safety protocols to both piercer and clients.

APP Standard may not be recognized here in the Philippines and may not be valid since Philippines are not yet setting a standard in terms of tattooing and body piercing but it never discourage Get Pfierced to learn and slay!

First sets of APP Acknowledgements that I took online to gain proper knowledge from Association of Professional Piercer in USA on maintaining their Piercing Standards inlined with Get Pfierced ✨
