For our Muslim brothers and sisters, Eid'l Fitr is a day of celebration and rejoicing.
Eid'l Fitr ("celebration of breaking the fast" in Arabic), one of the two official Islamic holidays, marks the end of the month-long fasting and sacrifice during Ramadan. Muslims gather in prayer and communal feasting, as well as obligatory acts of charity to the needy.
The date of Eid'l Fitr is usually determined by when the new moon is sighted by local religious authorities. Whatever date it is scheduled, however, Muslims from all over the world are sure to offer their thanksgiving to Allah for carrying them through the sacrifices they have made during Ramadan.
Keep God always in your heart. God is with us through everything, giving us strength for everything at every moment.

"Bataan has fallen, but the spirit that made it stand—a beacon to all the liberty-loving peoples of the world—cannot fall."
- Captain Salvador P. Lopez's message following the Fall of Bataan, in a radio broadcast from Corregidor on April 9, 1942
On this day in 1942, combined Filipino and American forces surrendered to the Japanese occupation forces in what became known as the Fall of Bataan during World War II.
But this is a day in which we remember not a defeat, but a victory - the victory borne out of the courage and gallantry of our heroes, in various eras in our history, who stayed true to the words of our national anthem: "Sa manlulupig, di ka pasisiil!"
Today, as our independent nation continues to face the threat of foreign incursions and the challenges brought by widespread poverty, corruption and social decay, let us ask ourselves: do we really have the courage to become genuine agents of inclusive change for our country?

Santa Rosa City, nagdeklara na ng State of Calamity

DOH calls 'code blue alert' on pertussis
The Department of Health (DOH) is calling it a "code blue" alert in the Calabarzon, as the agency continues its efforts to combat the rise of pertussis cases in the region.
In a Code Blue Alert, LGUs and health facilities are expected to provide surveillance reports on pertussis cases to the Incident Command Systems to facilitate timely updates and data analysis.
The DOH has activated its Incident Management Team (IMT), while local health offices are urged to actively report suspected and confirmed cases of pertussis within 24 hours to prevent the virus from further spreading.
“We highly encourage local health personnel to co-locate because one of our findings upon institutionalizing local government units in terms of DRRM-H (disaster risk reduction and management in health) is that they are located within the operations center,” Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management in Health (RDRRM-H) officer-in-charge Joehl Francisco said.
The DOH Calabarzon and its local counterparts will adopt the "Prevent-Detect-Isolate-Test-Reintegrate" (PDITR) strategy on top of other infection prevention control measures, a measure first implemented during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The health department also reminded health facilities to implement infection prevention control protocols, such as proper disposal of infectious wastes.
“Infection prevention and control, as well as physical distancing inside health facilities are very important. The public is also encouraged to wear face masks to prevent infection, especially in large gatherings,” the health officer said.
Other precautions to observe include proper and regular handwashing, keeping infants and children away from individuals with suspected symptoms, and having their children vaccinated.
