Ang Pambansang Komisyon para sa Kultura at mga Sining ay nagpupugay sa mga manggagawa't anakpawis sa lahat ng sektor lalong lalo na sa mga manggagawang pangkulturang buong pusong nagtataguyod sa ating kalinangan bilang mga Filipino.

Araw ng Paggawa

Ang Araw ng Paggawâ ay ginaganap tuwing unang araw ng Mayo bílang pagdiriwang at pagpapahalaga sa mga manggagawa’t anakpawis. Ang unang pagdiriwang ng Araw ng Paggawa ay nangyari sa Estados Unidos noong 1882 at itinaguyod ng Knights of Labor, isang samahan ng mga anakpawis. Gayunman, nang lumaon ay ginawang unang Lunes ng Setyembre ang opisyal na pagdiriwang ng araw na ito sa Estados Unidos at Canada. Sa Filipinas, higit na sinunod ang tradisyong namayani sa Europa na ipagdiwang ang araw na ito tuwing unang araw ng Mayo. Ang araw na ito ay unang ipinagdiwang sa Filipinas noong 1903 at ang bansa ay nása ilalim pa ng Estados Unidos. Mahigit isang daang libong manggagawa ang nagmartsa sa harap ng Palasyo ng Malacañang upang humingi ng mga kondisyon para sa ikabubuti ng lahat ng manggagawa at ito’y pinamunuan ng organisasyong Union Obrero Democratica de Filipinas (UODF).
