PATROL has been referred to as the "backbone of policing". It is a police function of enforcing proactive policing through police omnipresence in efforts to deter crime. Considered as the backbone of policing, patrol operations are crucial to a community's safety and order.
The operations of the police patrol include various activities. Initially, the police will identify crime areas and provide a physical police presence at that assigned location. Beat patrols or foot patrols increase police visibility in a particular area. It enhances our citizens' feeling of safety and builds bridges between citizens and police. Through this police presence or police visibility, it helps the area of responsibility to promote crime prevention.
On this day, the cadets detailed at Tandag City Police Station engaged in police patrol operations. They were oriented of the patrol guidelines including the conduct of briefing prior to the patrol operations and the debriefing after the end of the unit's relief. As keen observers, the important lesson gathered throughout the patrolling is to establish good rapport with the people in the community. Effective policing takes a good relationship between police officers and the community.

This was already adopted by all units in treating reports of crime incidents, arrests, and any other events or activities.
Enhanced e-Warrant is a system where all warrants of arrest are electronically issued by the courts to PNP units concerned for implementation. While through the PNP e-Rogues Gallery System, the records of an individual or a suspect wanted for a crime in one locality can be instantly accessed by a police station in another locality with just a click of their fingers at the system. The CIRS sets a standard procedure by which all crime incidents are reported to the police stations and stored electronically in a database system. It is capable of filtering non crime data from the system thereby accounting for a more accurate crime statistics. The system promotes consistency in the recording of crime incidents and provides easy access on crime data nationwide. These crime data shall be the working basis for policies and programs on various anti-criminality measures.
