Sipalay City National High School held its SciMathympics Month 2024 today, September 27, at Sipalay City National High School -Junior High School Covered Court. With the theme: "Fly High Sipalay: Championing Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics for Sustainable Future.

Attended by guest speakers, namely Christina A. Zaragosa, Education Program Supervisor in Mathematics (EPS), and Sangguniang Panglungsod (SP) Jewel Selga, they addressed students by sharing their words of wisdom.

The program continued in the afternoon with the following activities: Modeling in various categories, Mass Dance of different eras, and lastly, announcement of winners.

The SciMathlympics celebration ended successfully with fulfilled objectives.

Sipalay City National High School actively participated in the Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill for the Third Quarter of 2024 today, September 26, 9 AM at the SCNHS-GPAEs campus.

School-based Emergency Response Team (SERT) officers led the learners along with the Senior High School Disaster Risk Reduction Management (DRRM) Coordinator, Ma'am Aureen L. Garque. Together, learners practiced the "Duck, Cover, and Hold" technique for promoting earthquake preparedness.

This drill aims to enhance public awareness and preparedness for natural disasters.

Ranie Grace G. Dela Cruz, a Senior High School Technological, Vocational and Livelihood (TVL) with a strand of Cookery, succesfully passed the National Assessment for Food and Beverage Services and also achieved competency in TM1 last September 16, 2024 at Leon Ganzon Polytechnic College at Balasan Town, Iloilo City.

Along the process of her preparation, she felt excited and at the same time, doubting herself if she can pass this assessment. As she was only given a short time to prepare.

Despite all the pressure and stress she felt—with her dedication, she continued to study and complied all the requirements needed. All of her sleepless nights and sacrifices were finally paid off.

SCNHS family is truly proud of Ma'am Ranie Grace G. Dela Cruz as she is now a certified NCII holder for Food and Beverage Services and a TM1 passer. This amazing achievement is a reflection of her hard work and enthusiasm.

Sir Joan L. Sayson, Principal 1, participated on the Regional Seminar together with EPS Program Supervisor in English Sir Danny B. Pillones, PSDS Myrah A. Deguit, Principal I of Camindangan Elementary School Sir Gary E. Caballes and Assistant Principal of Gil Montilla National High School Ma'am Baby Aleya Mercado, entitled "Regional Upskilling of English Teachers in Language Instruction" held at Punta Villa Resort, Arevalo, Iloilo City on September 21-24, 2024.

The seminar intended to facilitate high-quality professional learning opportunities to ensure that English teachers were proficient users of language and devise teaching strategies and techniques that develop learners' communicative language competence.

Target participants who were expected to attend this seminar were the Education Supervisors in English/Division English Coordinators, Public Schools District Supervisors, School Heads, and Head Teachers specializing in English.

Overall, the goal of this seminar was to improve the teachers proficiency specifically in English and aimed to elevate the overall quality of language in education in the region.

JUST IN | Supreme Secondary Learners Government Officers Join Seminar and Workshop

Aspiring leaders in the whole Division of Sipalay City attend a two-day workshop entitled "Sustainability Solutions and Lifelong Growth" held at Kyla's Event hall, Brgy. 2, Sipalay City on September 19-20, 2024.

On the first day of the training, it started by a Prayer followed by the National Anthem and Division Hymn. The opening remarks was given by SGOD-Chief Renato P. Claro and participants were introduced by SSLG adviser, Aureen L. Garque. Next, SEPS-SM&N Mary L. Domingo stated the purpose why this workshop is conducted and leaders applauded as the Schools Division Superintendent, Sir Ferdinand SY, PhD CESO VI gave his message. The speakers were personally introduced by SSLG adviser, Cambogui-ot NHS, Rizaline A. Sementilla.

The Session Proper started by the Sidechat and Design Thinking (CB for Leadership Training and Workshop) by EPS II, Mark E. Caballes and SEPS SM&N, Mary L. Domingo. After a short lunch break, the program was resumed by Medical Officer II, Jacklyn Kay J. Estrellado and she shared about health awareness. The last part was Sports training led by EPS-MAPEH, Sir Reynaldo O. Galicia.

On the second day of the training the workshop started by singing the Nationalistic Song and a prayer. Before they proceed to the main program, they had an energizer first to hype up the students. Then, LGU Sipalay City, DRRMS Head Jamaica G. Mueda started her DRRM Session and Workshop. After lunch break, PSDS Eduardo Seron, PhD shared the Learners Right and Protection. Jamaica G. Mueda, a facilitator representative conveyed the Facilitator's Final Thought.

The workshop ended by giving of commitment statements, giving and presenting of outputs, giving of certificates, and a photo opportunity.

This training or workshop was very helpful for the aspiring leaders of each school in the Division of Sipalay City. It can be a stepping stone for them to shape up their leadership even more. Also, an added knowledge and awareness for them. The SSLG officers did not just enjoy it, but also learned a lot from this training.

INTERNATIONAL RECOGNITION | SIPALAY CITY NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL STEM STUDENTS GARNER SILVER AWARD IN BANGKOK, THAILAND

Sipalay City National High School STEM Students of BATCH 2024 and their STEM Adviser won a Silver Award in their invention of Solar Flood Alarm System at the 9th Academic Demonstration Event with a Theme: 'Essential Soft Skills for the Future', held from August 8-9, 2024 at Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand.

The STEM adviser was Mrs. Gerlidel R. Dumancas - Drilon who guided and led the Batch 2024 STEM Students of Sipalay City NHS namely; Alliah Nicole P. Tejero, Jimkurt C. Baterna, Noel E. Belebestre Jr., Xyrish Ann Nathallih D. Chua, Jhonabel D. Merjamen and Prinz Cholo O. Villarosa.

This endeavor was in partnership and collaboration of the school to the Local Government Unit of Sipalay City headed by Mayor Maria Gina M. Lizares, Ms. Kathy Omilig-Gamuza and the facilitation of the Local Youth Development Office (LYDO) led by Ms. Katherine Maguad-Jocame.

The award they received was a result of their intelligence, dedication and hardwork in inventing the Solar Flood Alarm Systems.

PROJECT SALBAR of Sipalay City National High School has won a Gold and a Special Award at the 9th Satit Vichakarn Event with the theme "Essential Soft Skills for the Future" held from August 8 to 9, 2024 at Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand.

SALBAR stands for Solving Problems in Accelerating Learning for Basic Arithmetic. This Invention was Innovated by the Sipalay City National High School Math teachers namely: Helma C. Julao, Angelie T. Magbanua, Gina Mae F. Magbato, Cherie Joy Entes, Lida A. Gabayeron, Aileen C. Palmon, Shella B. Ramirez and Agnes A. Galilea.

They also received a Certificate of Recognition for the Excellent Innovation together with Sir Jake Malajos and the School Principal Sir Joan L. Sayson.

This international endeavor was in partnership and collaboration of the school to the Local Government Unit of Sipalay headed by Mayor Maria Gina M. Lizares, Ms. Kathy Omilig-Gamuza and the facilitation of the Local Youth Development Office (LYDO) led by Ms. Katherine Maguad-Jocame.

Masiglang Pagdiriwang ng Buwan ng Wika sa Sipalay City National High School!

Nagsimula na ang ikalawang bahagi ng pagdiriwang ng Buwan ng Wika sa Sipalay City National High School (SCNHS) sa Brgy. 5 JHS Campus. Ang mga mag-aaral ay nagpapakita ng kanilang pagmamahal sa wikang Filipino sa pamamagitan ng iba't ibang aktibidad.

Una, Balagtasan, Pagandahan ng Kubo, at presentasyon ng Pagkaing Pilipino. Ang kaganapan ay binuksan ng isang masiglang balagtasan ng mga mag-aaral ng ika-8 baitang. Kasabay nito, nagpapakita rin ang mga mag-aaral ng kanilang pagkamalikhain sa pagandahan ng kubo at pagluluto ng masasarap na pagkaing Pilipino.

Pangalawang Aktibidad ang Isahang Pag-awit at Interpretabong Sayaw. Hindi rin nagpahuli ang mga mag-aaral sa pagpapakita ng kanilang talento sa pag-awit at pagsayaw. Ang isahang pag-awit ay nakatuon sa temang "Wikang Mapagpalaya," at interpretabong sayaw "pasayawa ko inday" na nagpapakita ng kapangyarihan ng wikang Filipino sa pagpapalaya ng mga Pilipino.

Para sa Ikatlong Bahagi naman ng Buwan ng Wika ay gaganapin mamayang hapon. Ang mga mag-aaral ay makikilahok sa pagrampa ng may pinakamagandang kasuotang Pilipino, na nagpapakita ng kagandahan ng mga tradisyonal na kasuotan ng Pilipinas. Makikilahok din sila sa mga laro ng lahi, na nagpapakita ng kanilang pagiging mapaglaro at pagiging mapagkaisa. Ang mga nanalo sa iba't ibang aktibidad ay iaanunsyo mamayang hapon.

Ang pagdiriwang ng Buwan ng Wika sa SCNHS ay isang patunay ng pagmamahal ng mga mag-aaral sa wikang Filipino. Ang mga aktibidad na ginanap ay nagpapakita ng kanilang pagka malikhain, mapaglaro, at mapagkaisa. Ang pagdiriwang na ito ay nagsilbing inspirasyon sa mga mag-aaral at sa buong komunidad na patuloy na pahalagahan at gamitin ang wikang Filipino.

Manila, Philippines - The National Library of the Philippines hosted the Book Nook Conference 2024 from August 27-30, bringing together 130 Book Nook site partners from across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. Sir Joan L. Sayson, SCNHS Principal is one of the participants of the said conference.

The conference brought together the Area Coordinators and Member Board of Trustees from all 48 Book Nook sites in Luzon, 23 in Visayas, and 42 in Mindanao.

This conference aims to orient and equip the Book Nook site partners with the skills and perspectives to better serve their respective reading communities after the conference.

: Sipalay City National High School: New Road and Ground Development

Sipalay City, Negros Occidental - The Sipalay City National High School (SCNHS) is undergoing a development of a new road and the elevation of the school ground. This project, implemented by the local government unit (LGU) headed by Mayor Maria Gina M. Lizares and Vice Mayor Oscar C. Montilla Jr.,

The project began on August 19, 2024, with the ground improvement already completed. The road development is currently underway. The new road will make it easier for students, teachers, and staff to reach the school. The elevation of the school ground will also prevent flooding, which has been a recurring problem in the past.

With these improvements, SCNHS learners can expect a better learning environment, free from the challenges posed by difficult terrain and flooding.

: Stephanie E. Siaga, an SCNHS Alumna Ranks 8 in the Recent Licensure Examination for Psychometrician

Stephanie Grace Esponilla Siaga, an alumna of Sipalay City National High School recently passed the Licensure Examination for Psychometrician, ranked as Top 8 conducted last August 11 and 12, 2024. The result was released last August 19, 2024.

Siaga graduated in SCNHS With High Honors and graduated Magna Cum Laude at STI West Negros University, Bacolod City.

Back in her Junior High School days, she was one of the best performing students who thrived and topped her class. Her former teachers describe her as a diligent, talented, and a dedicated person.

As she entered the world of her chosen career, she encountered a lot of difficulties and felt a lot of pressure along the way, but her dedication pushed and inspired her to pursue her ambition.

SCNHS is truly honored and proud to have her as one of our shining alumna. Her hard work and effort truly paid off and we wish her the best on her future endeavors.
