"SEDMFI MEDICAL MISSION & BLOOD LETTING 2024"

Another Medical Mission was successfully conducted following the recent SEDMFI Medical Mission at Butuan City last June 15, 2024. And now it was held at Surigao del Norte Provincial Hospital, Brgy. Sta. Cruz, Placer, Surigao del Norte on June 22, 2024.

In line with the celebration of the 39th Founding Anniversary of SEDMFI, the Foundation targeted to hold two medical mission this year. The Medical Mission and Blood Letting program at Placer, Surigao del Norte was the third medical mission sponsored by SEDMFI covering our 2 branches: Placer Branch and Claver Branch.

The SEDMFI’s Medical Mission and Blood Letting program was collaborated with the healthcare team from Caraga Regional Hospital and Surigao del Norte Provincial Hospital.

More than 200 people have been served during the activity.
Our partner clients, their family member/s and walk-ins availed health care services such as: Free check-up consultation, free medicines and supplements, Blood Letting, Dental check-up, Laboratory testing and “Operation Tuli”.

Our deepest gratitude to the following health care professionals and volunteers for the untiring service and support to make this medical mission successful: To the Dental Team and Blood Bank Team of Caraga Regional Hospital; To Surigao del Norte Provincial Hospital team headed by their Chief of Hospital Dr. Jamallodin Demao and to our volunteered staff from Placer Branch, Claver Branch and Head Office Admin and Support.

The second medical mission this year would not be possible without the combine efforts and support of our doctors, nurses, other health care volunteers and volunteered SEDMFI staff.

SEDMFI works hand in hand to meet the needs of the community.
The Foundation continue to look forward on working collaboratively to create a healthier and more resilient communities in the future.

"SEDMFI MEDICAL MISSION & BLOOD LETTING 2024"

As part of the 39th Founding Anniversary of SEDMFI with the theme “39 years of Creating Opportunities and Transforming Communities”, the Foundation sponsored a Medical Mission this year for its Partner Clients at Butuan City. The Medical Mission and Blood Letting program covered the 3 branches of SEDMFI the Cabadbaran Branch, Buenavista Branch and Butuan Branch. It was held last June 15, 2024 at Robinson's Place Butuan. This is the second medical mission organized by SEDMFI after its first medical mission sponsored last 2023 for its Head Office Partner Clients at Surigao City.

The medical mission at Butuan was made possible because of the collaborative partnership of the different organizations and agencies to serve with SEDMFI. Our heartfelt gratitude to the City Government of Butuan, Philippine Red Cross Agusan del Norte – Butuan City Chapter and Butuan Cardio Cycling.
These dedicated team of healthcare professionals and volunteers joined to provide healthcare services such as dental service, laboratory tests, Blood Letting, consultations and free medicines. They were able to serve almost 300 SEDMFI partner clients and some of the family members of our partner clients during the medical mission.

To our doctors, nurses and volunteers who compassionately invested their time and expertise and also to our partner clients from Cabadbaran, Buenavista and Butuan Branches, our sincerest thanks for making this medical mission a resounding success.

To our staff from Head Office Admin and Support, Cabadbaran Branch, Buenavista Branch and Butuan Branch we sincerely thank you for your service and time rendered all throughout the activity.

Theme: "39 years of Creating Opportunities and Transforming Communities."
Highlight activities during the Founding Anniversary of the Foundation were the following:

The Eastern Mindanao Environmental Restoration for Growth and Equity (EMERGE) for Watersheds Project, in partnership with CENRO and Atty. Carl Cesar Rebuta, conducted a Conference on Forestry and Wildlife Laws and Paralegal Procedures from May 29 to 31, 2024, at Fiesta Resort, Brgy. Ipil, Surigao City.

For three intensive days, selected Watershed Management Councils and Forest Wardens from Claver, Gigaquit, Bacuag, Tagana-an, and Malimono engaged in crucial discussions and workshops on forestry and wildlife laws. Supported by USAID under the INSPIRE Program and spearheaded by the Gerry Roxas Foundation, this marks the initial capability-building initiative of the program. It aims to provide adequate knowledge and practical lessons for the various management councils and forest wardens, ensuring the inclusion of significant and tested strategies into the proposed watershed management plans.

Mindanao Microfinance Council, Inc.'s Executive Director Sir Jack Rubillar conducted a training to SEDMFI's Credit Officer Representatives on the Implementation of WASH Loan Program last May 24, 2024 at Annex Tavern Hotel, Surigao City.

SEDMFI-Placer Branch identified its partner clients who were one of the victims of Mudslide at Brgy. Siana in the municipality of Mainit, Surigao del Norte and visited them to extend aids.
Currently, our partner clients are evacuated at Greenstone Employees’ Headquarter and Magpayang National High School.

On May 9, 2024, a momentous Inaugural Delineation Activity marked a crucial step forward in establishing the Baoy-Daywan Watershed. Held at Sitio Baoy, Barangay San Isidro, Gigaquit, this milestone event was made possible through the strong collaboration of LGU Claver and Gigaquit, funded by USAID under the INSPIRE program, managed by the Gerry Roxas Foundation and implemented by SEDMFI.

This landmark activity underscores the unwavering commitment to environmental conservation and watershed management. We were deeply honored to have esteemed representatives join us, including the USAID-INPIRE team from the Gerry Roxas Foundation, represented by the Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Specialist, Mr. Don Christian Mariano, and Technical Monitoring Officer, Mr. Russell Atienza. Additionally, we were honored to have Hon. Mayor Georgia Gokiangkee of LGU Claver, SB Member Hon. Angela Larong representing LGU Gigaquit, along with dedicated staff from MENRO, MPDC, and Forest Wardens of both LGUs. Furthermore, we were privileged to receive support from dedicated teams from the Provincial Environmental and Natural Resource Office of Surigao del Norte, PENRO, CENRO, as well as SEDMFI and the entire EMERGE project team.

This convergence of national and local support signifies a promising future for conservation efforts. Their concerted actions not only demonstrate a shared dedication but also underscore a resolute commitment to safeguarding our natural resources for the well-being of present and future generations.🌍

Today,March 14, 2024 SEDMFI Headoffice extends aid to the fire victims of Sitio Alingit, Brgy. San Juan, Surigao City. Headed by our Admin and Finance Head Sir Jules Lacsamana and HO-Branch Manager Sir Randy Sajulan, the team distributed essential goods consisting of rice, canned goods, noodles and clothings.
Currently, the fire victims are temporarily sheltered at Surigao City National High School.

SEDMFI conducted a meeting and staff orientation for our Office Keepers yesterday at Headoffice, Surigao City.

Today we held the blessing ceremony of our extension building for SEDMFI MBA Inc. Office at Head office, Surigao City.

Present during the blessing ceremony were SEDMFI Board of Trustees headed by our President Sir Ferdinand Sembrano, the PMC and Head office Admin/ Support Staff.
