At the 1st NwSSU Ismayling Festival in Calbayog City thru the Samar Island Heritage Center, Inc. with multi-awarded poet and screenwriter Jerry B. Gracio, officers of SIHC and some faculty members and offcials of NwSSU. This activity is aimed at promoting the millennials’ engagement, awareness and appreciation to this traditional Samarnon literary-musical form recently being challenged from vanishing. In 2019 and 2020, the NCCA National Committee on Music spearheaded the revival of this cherished tradition during the Arts Month MUSIKAPULUAN celebrations.
