We are proud to celebrate the success of Dr. Margaret Denise del Rosario from Ospital ng Makati!

Dr. Margaret presented her research at the International Society for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect Congress 2024 in Uppsala, Sweden, highlighting the dedication and expertise of our doctors in advancing knowledge and protecting children from abuse and neglect.

The Department of Pediatrics celebrates the World Immunization Week and continues to promote the use of vaccines to protect people of all ages especially our children against vaccine-preventable diseases.

Dr. Michelle Cuvin, our Pediatric Infectious Disease Specialist, conducted a Lay Forum on immunization at Ospital ng Makati ACM Complex on April 25, 2024, 10AM.

Let's remember that immunization saves millions of lives every year and get vaccinated!

Pabakunahan ang inyong mga anak laban sa Polio, Rubella at Tigdas sa OSMAK Pedia OPD simula bukas hanggang May 31, Monday to Friday 8am-5pm.

Malaki ang banta ng malawakang pagkalat o outbreak ng tigdas. Dumadami rin ang kaso ng rubella (tigdas hangin). Sa mga nakaraang taon, dumami ang mga bata na hindi nabakunahan o protektado laban sa tigdas, polio, at rubella at lalo pang dumami ito dahil sa pagkaantala ng pagbabakuna sa ilang lugar dahil sa COVID-19 pandemic.

MAAARI BANG BAKUNAHAN ANG BATA KAHIT MAYROON SIYANG SINAT O UBO?
Maaaring bakunahan ang mga batang may banayad na sintomas gaya ng sinat. Bago magbakuna, lahat ng bata ay iiksaminin muna ng doktor, nurse o health personnel bago bigyan ng bakuna. Kung makita na ang bata ay may ibang sakit na malubha, maaaring ipagpaliban ang pagbabakuna hanggang sa gumaling siya.

LIGTAS BANG IBIGAY NG SABAY ANG MR AT OPV VACCINE?
Oo, ligtas ang pagbibigay ng MR at OPV vaccine ng sabay. Sa kampanyang ito, kailangang mabigyan ng parehas na bakunaang mga edad 9 - 59 months old para sa kanilang kabuuang proteksyon laban sa polio, tigdas, at rubella. Ang mga bakunang ito ay matagal nang napatunayang ligtas at epektibo ayon sa pagsusuri ng World Health Organization at aprubado ng Food and Drug Administration ng ating bansa.
