Greetings Herons and Lady Herons!

In accordance with the Memorandum from the Office of the President | Malacañang, specifically Memorandum Circular No. 64, it is hereby stipulated that:

Pursuant to Proclamation No. 60 (s. 1992), which declares the last week of September each year as Family Week, and Proclamation No. 326 (s. 2012), which designates the fourth Monday of September as "Kainang Pamilya Mahalaga" Day, all government offices in the Executive branch will suspend work on September 23, 2024, starting at 3:00 PM.

Consequently, the University of Makati offices will remain operational until 3:00 PM, and classes will be suspended from 3:00 PM onwards.

As we commemorate the 52nd Anniversary of the Martial Law in the Philippines, let us never forget and keep in mind the reason behind this day.

On September 21, 1972, Former President Ferdinand Marcos Sr. declared a martial law on television leading to various brutality towards human rights specifically with student activists, journalists, and every person who fought against the dictatorship.

With the lack of justice and accountability of the dictator, there are still attempts in revising the history that marked the suffering of Filipinos. Let us continue to call for justice and never forget the history that shaped the Philippines. Those who shed blood for the freedom of this country will be remembered and the atrocities committed by the Marcos administration shall remain in our minds, not just as a lesson, but as a symbol of giving power to the wrong people.

[Advisory 2024-022] With the recent announcement by the City Government of Taguig suspending classes at all levels (public and private), the University of Makati will proceed with its synchronous online teaching and learning delivery as scheduled for today, September 5.

[Advisory 2024-021] Beginning at 4:30 PM today, September 4, the Center for Information and Technology (CIT) will be performing emergency maintenance on the online system application. During this time, online transactions will be temporarily unavailable.

Today, we honor the life and legacy of our former senator, Benigno “Ninoy” S. Aquino. His sacrifice has raised the democratic heart of Filipinos who fight for the freedom of their countrymen. 🇵🇭

Buwan ng Agosto, 𝗕𝗨𝗪𝗔𝗡 𝗡𝗚 𝗪𝗜𝗞𝗔! 🇵🇭

𝗠𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗕𝘂𝘄𝗮𝗻 𝗻𝗴 𝗪𝗶𝗸𝗮, 𝗞𝗮-𝗕𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗻! 🌟🎉

Sa buwang ito, muling pinapahalagahan at pinapalakas natin ang ating wikang Filipino. Halina't magkaisa sa pagkilala sa ating pagkakakilanlan bilang isang bansa.

Sa usapang wika, alam mo ba ang opisyal na tawag sa wika natin? Tunay na nakakalito! "Tagalog" ba o "Filipino"? Ano nga ba ang tamang tawag sa wika ng mga Pilipino? 🤔

Ayon sa 1987 Konstitusyon ng Republika ng Pilipinas, Artikulo XIV, Seksyon 6, ang 𝗣𝗮𝗺𝗯𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗪𝗶𝗸𝗮 ng Bansang Pilipinas ay tinatawag na "𝗙𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗼."

Ang Wikang Filipino ay isang wikang batay sa iba't ibang wika at diyalekto sa Pilipinas, ngunit pangunahing nakabatay sa Tagalog. Sa bisa ng Executive Order No. 134 na nilagdaan at pinirmahan ni Dating Pangulo Manuel L. Quezon, na kinikilala bilang ‘Ama ng Wikang Pambansa,’ noong Disyembre 30, 1937, inaprubahan ang paggamit ng Tagalog bilang batayan ng wikang pambansa.

At noong Hunyo 7, 1940, ipinasa ng Philippine National Assembly ang Commonwealth Act No. 570 na nagdedeklara na ang "Filipino" ang wikang pambansa ng Pilipinas at ang magiging opisyal na wika simula Hulyo 4, 1946. 🎉

Isang patunay ng pagiging dinamiko ng wikang Filipino ay ang pagkakaroon ng mga bagong salita at termino na ginagamit natin sa teknolohiya, agham, at iba pang larangan. 𝗠𝗮𝗯𝘂𝗵𝗮𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘀! ✊🏻🇵🇭
