This is the official Facebook account of the De La Salle University Tañada-Diokno School of Law. Committed to excellence. Impassioned to serve.
De La Salle University Tañada-Diokno School of Law commemorated the 102nd Birth Anniversary of Jose “Ka Pepe” Diokno last February 26, 2024. This was highlighted by a Holy Mass presided by Fr. Robert Reyes at the Caroline Tanchay Auditorium of the DLSU Rufino Campus at BGC. This was followed by the blessing of the new Vicente Rufino Prayer Room located at the 6th Floor of the campus. The event was attended by the family members of Ka Pepe Diokno and Ka Tanny Tañada, DLSU Administration and TDSOL faculty, students, and staff. Mr. Charlie Rufino was also there with Atty. Anthony Peralta as the main sponsors of the new Prayer Room. Br. Bernie Oca FSC, our DLSU President, gave an inspiring sharing during the blessing of the new Prayer Room emphasizing the need for and the importance of prayer life in building the Kingdom of God, as what has happened 38 years ago in EDSA. The celebration ends with a simple salo-salo and a night of fellowship held at the Urban Land Institute Library at the Rufino Campus Roof Deck.
DLSU-TDSOL places 6th at Jessup National Rounds
The DLSU Tañada-Diokno School of Law ranked 6th overall at the recently concluded Philippine national rounds of the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition. With 21 Philippine law schools competing for the privilege to represent the Philippines at the global rounds in Washington DC, these national rounds were the most competitive thus far in Philippine Jessup moot history. The competition was held from February 23 to 25 at the University of Santo Tomas. Competing as Team 653, the DLSU-TDSOL team won 3 out of 4 preliminary round matches. The moot simulates a case before the International Court of Justice, and competitors argue on Public International Law issues. Mooting is a valuable learning experience, and DLSU-TDSOL actively supports its students who participate in moot competitions locally and abroad.

Julia Therese Pineda who was a mooter during her law school days, and Dr. Rebecca E. Khan, who teaches Public International Law at TDSOL. Well done, Team DLSU!
Congratulations to Law Student Practitioners Marc Yu, David Sim, Cassandra Tanedo, and Beatrix Garcia for successfully defending our client in Manila!

DLSU Law Students Secure 3rd Runner-Up in National IP Law Debate Competition
A team of three students from the De La Salle University Tañada-Diokno School of Law (DLSU-TDSOL) recently brought home a 3rd-runner up finish in the prestigious IP Circle League: Debate, a nationwide inter-law school competition held at the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL). The team was fielded by the DLSU Law Moot and Debate Society (LAMDES), the premiere moot and debate organization of DLSU-TDSOL.
The IP Circle League: Debate is a rigorous competition that delves into the complexities and nuances of Philippine Intellectual Property Law. Over 30 students from various law schools across the country participated in the event, which culminated in a two-week series of school-to-school matches.
Only the top five teams emerged from the preliminary rounds held last November 6, 2023. DLSU Law's team, composed of Joshua Julius Tee, Claudette Uriko Labrador, and William Dionysius Falgui, demonstrated their exceptional debating skills by securing 2-0 record against strong teams from West Visayas State University and University of Baguio. William Dionysius Falgui earned the best speaker award for both matches, ranking third overall best speaker in the preliminaries. Their impressive performance continued onto the semi-finals on November 13, 2023, where they edged out Cor Jesu College of Law and secured a well-deserved 3rd-runner up finish.
The team's success is a testament to their dedication, hard work, and the exceptional training they received from their coach, DLSU Law alumnus Atty. Raeyan Reposar. DLSU takes pride in its students' academic achievements and actively encourages them to engage in extracurricular activities that foster their holistic development as future legal professionals.
Debating provides law students with an invaluable opportunity to hone their critical thinking, research, and public speaking skills, preparing them for the challenges they will face in their legal careers. DLSU remains committed to providing its students with the support and resources they need to excel in all aspects of their legal education.
DLSU Law Students Finish 3rd Runner-Up in National IP Law Quiz Competition
A team of three students from the De La Salle University Tañada-Diokno School of Law (DLSU-TDSOL) bag the 3rd runner-up title in the IP Circle League’s “The Quiz,” a national inter-school competition organized by the IP Academy held at the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL) on the 26th of October 2023.
The IP Circle League’s “The Quiz” is a knowledge and skills competition aiming to enrich the learning experience of students by showcasing the scope of the intellectual property system in the Philippines and covering the core areas of intellectual property law (i.e., copyright and related rights, patents, trademarks, industrial designs, and utility models). This competition was participated in by over 30 students from various universities and colleges across the country.
The DLSU-TDSOL Team, composed of Urika Loi Mendoza, Danielle Marie Bautista, and John Mari Emmanuel De Ocampo, who are members of the DLSU Law Moot and Debate Society (LAMDES), was one of the top five teams with the highest scores to emerge from the preliminary round and qualified to compete in the final round, where they finished as the 3rd runner-up.
This victory is the product of the team’s unwavering dedication and diligent efforts in mastering the Philippine IP Laws under the guidance and tutelage of their coach, Atty. Anthony Peralta.
Participating in this competition allows law students to strengthen their understanding of the Philippine IP laws while also becoming acquainted with current events and other related issues in the IP field. The DLSU is proud of its students’ accomplishments and continues to encourage them to participate in co-curricular activities that promote holistic development, which will be beneficial in their future legal careers.
