We are pleased to announce that Everest International Academy has successfully earned accreditation from Cognia®, a global nonprofit organization that provides quality assurance for schools, school districts, and education service providers.

Cognia, formerly AdvancEd, evaluates various aspects of an institution, such as its educational programs, leadership, resources, and overall performance against rigorous standards. Being accredited by Cognia means that Everest is acknowledged as a school that upholds Cognia Performance Standards and is dedicated to continuous improvement, which has a positive impact on the quality of education provided to students.

This is truly wonderful news, and we thank our families for their continued trust and confidence in our mission. Semper Altius!

Last quarter, the Kindergarten students learned that natural disasters happen not only because of how nature works, but also because human actions contribute to this too. They committed to do their part in helping the planet, no matter how small. They looked for different organizations that help the planet by planting trees, and found One to Tree, a project by the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc. To help them earn money, they held a Snack Sale where they sold chocolate marshmallows to all the students in the Lower School. Their goal was to earn enough money to donate at least TWO trees: One from Kinder A and one from Kinder B. But in the end, they earned enough money to donate EIGHTEEN trees! Our youngest learners are so happy to help the earth in our own little way!

The fifth graders took science and language arts on a creative spin at Craft Academy. They explored the properties, classification, and transformations of matter by crafting ceramics, mixing hand soap and perfume, and baking treats. Following these hands-on activities, they further deepened their understanding by reflecting on their experiences in their language arts class.

Good job to our students for an incredibly productive day of learning.

A trip to the Change Maker 2040 museum, the Philippines' first dedicated to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), transformed our class of fourth graders. Through interactive exhibits, art installations, and virtual reality experiences, they explored global challenges and solutions for a sustainable future. Inspired by the museum's focus on human impact and the importance of accountable stewardship, the students pledged to become changemakers, committed to addressing environmental, political, and economic issues on a local and global scale. Our fourth graders learned the value of becoming responsible stewards of God’s creations.

Our third graders had an amazing time exploring the world of shoemaking on their recent field trip. They learned the entire process of crafting leather shoes, from the initial cut to the final stitch, and even had the chance to make a pair of footwear themselves. With expert guidance and the right tools, they enthusiastically dove into the craft. But it wasn’t just about shoemaking—they also delved into important social studies topics like resources and economics, gaining practical understanding of the business behind the products. To top it off, each student proudly received a “Munting Sapatero” certificate. It was a wonderful opportunity for them to appreciate traditional craftsmanship, and who knows what dreams this day might have sparked? We might just have some future artisans or entrepreneurs in the making. 😉

What a day of creativity and learning at Artboom with our second graders! From crafting unique scents and baking artistic cookies to painting ceramics, our students explored the magic of art and science, particularly the different states of matter. They went home not only with handcrafted treasures but also with memories filled with laughter and creativity.

Our first graders had an engaging experience with nature during their visit to Sta. Elena Fun Farm in Laguna. They enjoyed outdoor activities such as feeding animals, ziplining, and learning about the simple machines that help our farmers every day. One of the trip’s highlights was meeting Chocnut, a 22-year-old carabao, who reminded the students of their social studies topic on the national symbols of the Philippines. There’s nothing like learning through adventure, and watching our students connect their classroom knowledge with real-world experiences was simply amazing!

Our kindergarteners had a great time at DreamLab on their field trip! They got to do some hands-on activities related to what they've been learning in class. They even explored simulations of various government offices, which deepened their understanding of the practical world. It was a fun and educational day for them, and we're grateful for the experience!

Our Kinder students learned about natural disasters and explored their causes and effects while brainstorming how to be better stewards of God’s creation. Last week, they put their knowledge into action with a Snack Sale, selling chocolate-dipped marshmallows to students, faculty, and staff to raise funds for tree seedlings. Through everyone’s hard work and collaboration, the students earned enough to sponsor at least 18 trees!! We are so proud of and happy for our little ones. Let's keep fostering these values of compassion and responsibility together.
