Travel Advisory #172
WARNING VS. TRAVELING WITH FAKE COVID TESTS
We wish to alert the public to secure authentic COVID-19 test results only from legitimate medical providers.
Safe travel is always the paramount concern, and airlines and authorities are vigilant in not accepting travelers holding fake RT-PCR or Antigen test results, for everybody's protection.
Philippine Airlines (PAL) was recently able to prevent boarding of at least 15 individuals for presenting fraudulent COVID-19 test results at airport check-in counters, as part of our contribution to our nation’s all-out efforts to stop the spread of the disease in all areas of the Philippines.
The prospective passengers who were caught in Manila had been bound for destinations such as Cotabato, Dipolog and Zamboanga; and have been turned over to the Philippine National Police. Most were referred for inquest at the city prosecutor's office, while others have been isolated at quarantine facilities pending their real swab test results.
The police said they will be charged with falsification of public documents and violation of RA 11332 or the Mandatory Reporting of Notifiable Diseases and Health Events of Public Health Concern Act. If found guilty, they may each face penalties of up to ₱50,000 or imprisonment for one to six months.
We reaffirm our commitment to work with government authorities in the fight against COVID-19, for the sake of safe air travel and a healthier Philippines.
Thank you.

Flying Safely in the ‘New Normal’
PAL is strictly implementing Fly Safe “new normal” practices to protect our passengers, in compliance with international health and safety protocols.
Please bring your own face masks and face shields and wear them at all times – at the airport and throughout your flight.
We encourage you to check-in online and arrive early at the airport to allocate extra time for new safety procedures– at least 3 hours prior to departure for domestic flights; and 4 hours prior to departure for international flights.
Our cabin crew would have undergone medical evaluation prior to their duty, and will be wearing full Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for your protection on board the flight. A modified meal and snack service will be offered on board, using sealed packaging instead of traditional meals.
Don’t worry about the cabin air --- all PAL aircraft are equipped with high-technology systems that continuously infuse fresh air across the cabin (cabin air is replaced every 2 to 3 minutes), as well as HEPA filters that trap viruses, bacteria and other contaminants with 99.9% efficiency. The onboard air creates a cleaner environment that is safer than most enclosed public spaces and comparable to hospital operating rooms.
