Dare to Care: Marian Student Nurses Offer Vital Health Services to Tagumeños

The Bachelor of Science in Nursing program of St. Mary's College of Tagum, Inc. (SMCTI) continues to excel in its mission to promote public health within Tagum City through its program: Mother Ignacia Health Monitoring Service, offering vital health services to both shoppers and employees.

The program aims to provide crucial health screenings, including Blood Pressure Monitoring, Vital Signs Assessment, Body Mass Index (BMI) Evaluation, and even Health Teaching, making them more accessible to all Tagumeños.

The Marian Student Nurses navigate the bustling corridors of the shopping malls in Tagum City, including NCCC Mall, Gaisano Mall, Grand Gaisano Mall, City Mall, Robinsons Place, and JS Gaisano Mall.

Through this initiative, the Marian Student Nurses apply their knowledge in action, offering holistic care despite their demanding schedules and rotations. Their commitment epitomizes the compassionate, holistic, and resolute care that every Tagumeño deserves.

The examination will be at the SMCTI Testing and Wellness Center (Guidance Office), situated between the Junior High School and Grade School buildings.

For those who are interested, please pay Php 100 at the cashier for the placement fee and proceed to the Testing Center bringing the receipt.

The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) of St. Mary's College of Tagum, Inc. (SMCTI) held the 31st Cap, Pin, and Candlelight Ceremony at Mother Ignacia Gymnasium, December 07.

This ceremony is a traditional event that marks the transition of nursing students from the academic to the clinical setting. It is a symbolic way of welcoming the students into the nursing profession and honoring their achievement.

The whole Ignacian Marian community congratulates Batch 2023 on achieving another milestone! St. Mary's College of Tagum, Inc. (SMCTI) accomplished an overwhelming 100% passing rate for Batch 2023, overall passing rate of 93.33%, and 98.08% passing rate for the first time takers during the November Philippine Nurses Licensure Examination (PNLE) 2023.

56 Marian Registered Nurses surmounted and successfully hurdled this year's PNLE together with 25,761 out of 32,203 examinees.

As we continue to advocate more accessible and inclusive healthcare services. The SMCTI Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program is now in its ninth month of the MOTHER IGNACIA HEALTH MONITORING SERVICE on Tagum City's leading Malls and Department Stores, including NCCC, GMALL, GAISANO GRAND, CITY MALL, ROBINSONS, JS GAISANO MALL OF TAGUM, with a series of health services are being provided to valued customers and employees, including Blood Pressure-Taking, Vital signs-checking, Body Mass Index (BMI) Evaluation, and Health Teachings.

In line with this noble endeavor, the nursing volunteers exhibit an unwavering dedication, tirelessly lending their holistic care to individuals amidst the immense clinical rotations and community-based nursing. Despite the demands placed upon them, they persistently contribute to this transformative service, empowering each individual to effectively manage and assert greater control over their own health. Undoubtedly, the virtues of compassion and dedication serve as representations in the pursuit of upholding the esteemed standards of Ignacian Marian Student Nurses.
