In response to public concerns on the schedule of classes, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Tuesday approved to start reverting the country’s school calendar to the traditional arrangement.

Thus, the opening of classes for school year 2024-2025 will begin on July 29 this year and end on April 15, 2025.

ADVISORY

28 April 2024 - In view of the latest heat index forecast of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) and the announcement of a nationwide transport strike, all public schools nationwide shall implement ASYNCHRONOUS CLASSES/DISTANCE LEARNING on April 29 and 30, 2024.

Likewise, teaching and non-teaching personnel in all public schools shall not be required to report to their respective stations.

However, activities organized by Regional and Schools Division Offices, such as Regional Athletic Association Meets and other division or school level programs, to be conducted on the aforementioned dates may push through as scheduled, provided that measures for the safety of all participants have been carefully considered.

Finally, private schools shall not be covered by this advisory but shall have the option to implement the same.

Women's Month has become the platform to spotlight women’s accomplishments and address ongoing and emerging issues related to women’s empowerment and gender equality. This can help spread awareness and inspire girls and future women leaders to make their voices heard.

Dinomina ng La Filipina National High School (LFNHS) shuttlers na sila John Paul Aliaso at John Obeda ang pambato ng Tagum City National Comprehensive High School (TCNCHS) na sina Robert Respecio at Jorr Shanon James Fuentes matapos nagpamalas ng mga soliding smashes, 21-4, 21-10, upang makamit ang panalo sa 2024 City Meet Mens Doubles Badminton Preliminary Round na ginanap sa Davao Del Norte Sports and Tourism Complex, Pebrero 23.

Samantala, sa Mens Badminton Singles A category naman, umarangkada ang Tagum City National High School (TCNHS) shuttler na si Matt Jayden Baliente matapos niyang pinataob ang manlalaro ng Tagum City National Comprehensive High School (TCNCHS) na si Jhonlie Marcos sa pamamagitan ng mga malalakas na smashes, 19-21, 21-10, 21-7, para hindi makaporma ang kalaban sa buong laro.

Sa Mixed Doubles Badminton category naman, pinadapa ng Central District ang South District, habang pinataob ng North District ang Private Schools, kaya haharap ang Central District at ang North District para sa semifinals na gaganapin sa Davao Del Norte Sports and Tourism Complex.

“These athletes have the potential to excel in higher-level competitions and even secure gold medals at the Regional Athletic Meet. This improvement is a testament to the dedication of coaches, parents, and the active participation of private schools, which collectively contribute to the growth and success of badminton in our community,” sabi ni Arvin Paulin, Tournament Manager.

Thank you so much Mayor Rey T. Uy's Project CO (Caring for Others) - Eye Program in partnership with Eye Thing Optical Clinic through Dr. Michelle S. Tingcoy for the free eyeglasses given to our students and teachers.

This project really helped the eyesight problem among our learners especially for those parents who cannot afford to buy eyeglasses for their children.
