𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊|| The bustling spirit of community and cooperation filled the air as Laureta National High School commenced its annual Brigada Eskwela program, themed "Bayanihan para sa Matatag na Paaralan," on July 22, 2024.

UM Tagum College showed strong support by donating paint to help with the school's refurbishment. The donation was formally handed over by Dr. Armand James Vallejo, the BSED Program Head. This contribution will be used to repaint classrooms and other school areas, making them more welcoming for students and staff.

The week-long event, running until July 27, is a testament to the collaborative efforts of stakeholders, students, parents, and local organizations, all working together to create a more resilient and conducive learning environment.

𝐖𝐞𝐥𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 to Dr. Armand James Vallejo, BSED Program Head, and Dr. Henry Ligan, Office of Student Affairs Head, both esteemed faculty members from the Department of Teacher Education at UM Tagum College.

Dr. Armand and Dr. Ligan have successfully completed their participation in the Faculty Exchange Program between Islamic University of Muhammad Arsyad Al Banjari Kalimantan (UNISKA), Indonesia, and UMTC, Philippines. They embarked on their journey abroad last month, May 20, 2024, and now returned after a fruitful one-month faculty exchange. Their dedication and contribution to international academic collaboration exemplify UM Tagum College's commitment to excellence in global education.

𝐈𝐍 𝐏𝐇𝐎𝐓𝐎𝐒| Our very own Dr. Armand James Vallejo and Dr. Henry Ligan are currently sharing their expertise with the students of the Islamic University of Muhammad Arsyad Al Banjari (UNISKA) in Banjarmasin, Indonesia.

Dr. Ligan's expertise in General English and Dr. Vallejo's proficiency in Public and Academic Speaking and Introduction to Linguistics have been well received by the students at UNISKA.

The faculty members are currently in Banjarmasin as part of a one-month faculty exchange program, which aims to promote academic collaboration and foster cultural exchange between UMTC and UNISKA.

In the recent March 2024 Licensure Examination for Teachers, the Department of Teacher Education at UM Tagum College has shown exceptional performance by producing 4 topnotchers, showcasing the institution's commitment to academic excellence and quality education.

Three of the topnotchers came from the Bachelor of Secondary Education program: Whelyn Unabia and Arvin Englisa, who ranked 5th, and Clark Dominic Palacio Ragadi, who ranked 6th. Additionally, Betty Jean Bordios from the Bachelor of Elementary Education program ranked 10th.

The outstanding achievement of these students in the Licensure Examination for Teachers underscores their hard work, dedication, and the quality of education provided by UM Tagum College's Department of Teacher Education.

The UMTC-DTE community extends its heartfelt congratulations to the successful examinees and takes pride in their outstanding accomplishments, further solidifying the institution's position as a premier hub for teacher education and academic excellence.

The BSEd Program Head, Dr. Armand James Vallejo, and the Office of Student Affairs Head, Dr. Henry Ligan, both faculty members from the Department of Teacher Education at UM Tagum College, are currently en route to the Islamic University of Muhammad Arsyad Al Banjari (UNISKA) in Banjarmasin, Indonesia. They are participating in a one-month faculty exchange program, aimed at fostering academic collaboration and cultural exchange between the two institutions.

This initiative builds on the success of a previous student exchange program. In August 2023, four pioneering students from UM Tagum College had the opportunity to study at UNISKA, gaining valuable international experience and broadening their educational perspectives. In return, UM Tagum College has welcomed three students from UNISKA, who were deployed to UMTC's partner schools for practice teaching.

The partnership between UM Tagum College (UMTC) and UNISKA was established to promote mutual understanding and cooperation between the two institutions. This partnership represents a significant step towards achieving the institutions' shared vision of providing high-quality education and fostering international collaboration.

This pivotal event saw enthusiastic participation from students across various departments, exercising their right to vote and contributing to the selection of emerging leaders.

UM ERIAO meets two UMTC's DTE teachers for faculty exchange in Indonesia

Marking another proof of global excellence, the UM External Relations and International Affairs Office (ERIAO) commended a courtesy call for the delegates of the international faculty exchange program, Dr. Armand James Vallejo and Dr. Henry Ligan from the Department of Teacher Education (DTE), in the Islamic University of Muhammad Arsyad Al Banjari, Banjarmasin, (UNISKA) Indonesia.

Their departure will happen on May 20, in which they will partake in a one-month deployment until June 18, 2024.

Moreover, the momentous chance will be an institutional benchmark as the first-ever faculty exchange program in UM Tagum College, deemed with pride as they set forth an exemplary foundation of excellence and values to students and educators of the university.

This international partnership that envisions strengthening global relations and mobility for cultural teaching immersions is likely a commemoration of the successful inbound practice teaching of three of the students from the UNISKA to the affiliated schools of the University of Mindanao, last September 2023.
