Tanza Wellness Center - Social Hygiene Clinic held an HIV screening for our Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) at BJMP Tanza. This screening is part of our effort to provide essential health services to everyone in our community.

International AIDS Candlelight Memorial 2024

The Tanza Wellness Center - Social Hygiene Clinic commemorates the International AIDS Candlelight Memorial 2024 with the theme: "Put People First: 𝑲𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒊𝒍𝒂 𝒏𝒈 𝑷𝒂𝒈𝒌𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒂, 𝑳𝒊𝒘𝒂𝒏𝒂𝒈 𝒏𝒈 𝑷𝒂𝒈-𝒂𝒔𝒂". This event highlights the significance of collective action in empowering individuals and communities to combat stigma and discrimination associated with HIV/AIDS.

Tanzeños 𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐩𝐫𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐫 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐬𝐮𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐀𝐈𝐃𝐒 𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝.

The International AIDS Candlelight Memorial, initiated in 1983, has grown into one of the largest and most significant HIV awareness and advocacy campaigns worldwide. It honors the memory of those who have died of AIDS, supports people living with HIV, and mobilizes communities to end the pandemic.

By gathering together, the Tanza community demonstrated solidarity and a shared commitment to combatting HIV/AIDS. The "Kandila ng Pagkalinga" symbolized the compassion and support from the community, while "Liwanag ng Pag-asa" represented optimism for a future free from stigma and discrimination.

The event successfully brought the community together, fostering a supportive and informed environment to champion the rights and dignity of individuals living with HIV/AIDS.

At SM City Tanza's bloodletting event, we took an important step towards a safer blood supply by conducting HIV screenings for all blood donors. Together, we're not just saving lives but ensuring the well-being of our community.

The Tanza Rural Health Unit partnered with SDO and DepEd to conduct an information session at Amaya School of Home Industries for 100 selected students from Junior and Senior High Schools. The theme, "KABATAAN! Dapat Alam mo!" focused on raising awareness about crucial topics such as Menstrual Hygiene, HIV 101, Teenage Pregnancy, and Substance Abuse.

The highlight of the event was the launch of the OKY APP, bringing a transformative element to the session. It was heartening to witness the active participation of everyone present, making the event a positive and impactful experience for all.
