Aha moment 💡, Sweetest Day is every October 21 (last Saturday). It is a day to be sweet by sharing a kind thought, a small gift or a gesture of kindness. July is Sarcoma Awareness Month 💛

Sarcomas are a rare group of cancers in which malignant cells form in the bones or soft tissues of the body.

Soft tissue sarcomas form in cartilage, fat, muscle, blood vessels, tendons, nerves, and around joints. Osteosarcomas develop in bone; liposarcomas form in fat; rhabdomyosarcomas form in muscle; and Ewing sarcomas form in bone and soft tissue. (www.aacr.org)

As the campaign continues, we join with like-minded people because we know that we are stronger when we are united. We celebrate real-world progress in its many forms and allow that momentum to fuel our fight for fairness. We’ll do more than spread the word—we’ll shout it from the rooftops. We’ll build stronger alliances and innovative new collaborations.

Our actions can take countless forms: motivating neighbours to provide transport to cancer treatment for a fellow resident or ensuring that healthy and affordable food options are offered at the local school.
May we also mobilize our friends, family, coworkers and communities because we know that together we can achieve almost anything.

Today is International Allied Health Professions Day! ☢️🦽🩼🧫🔬🧪💉🩸🩻🩹

The aims of AHPs Day are to
- bring allied health professionals together to celebrate the valuable work they do
- raise the profile of allied health professionals and the important role they play in health and social care systems.

We appreciate the efforts of all AHPs working on the frontline in hospitals and in the community and we acknowledge the contribution not only to the COVID-19 pandemic response but also to maintaining clinical care and high quality service delivery in the face of significant uncertainty and work pressures.

Thanking all AHPs for adapting to new methods of service delivery and for the flexibility, solution focused approaches and commitment to caring for the consumers of health services.
