Feelings can be messy - that's normal, that's okay. Sometimes, those feelings can be too much to the point we feel overwhelmed or drowning because of them. If it does happen, know that it won't stay way. It doesn't need to.
Lean on family and friends for support.
Pace yourself.
Make time for healthy activities that help you feel good about yourself.
And, if you need to, seek professional help 🙂
Our feelings can be messy, our mind can get clouded, yes, but with proper support, they'll right themselves.
Love and light,
Doc Cams

If it feels messy, overwhelming, or hard, that doesn’t mean that there’s anything wrong with you.
It feels messy, overwhelming, or hard because that’s how it works: it is always going to feel this way when you’re trying something new, making a change, or building something.
It’s the process of engaging with the mess that actually allows us to turn it into something else. Through our attention, we can transform it into something beautiful, interesting, and authentic.
The next time you are struggling with this, try treating yourself with compassion. Say, “This is how everyone feels when they’re facing the mess. We all struggle with this. It doesn’t mean I’m not talented, capable, or resourceful. It just means I’m a human, going through the messy parts first.”

Burns : Safety Tips: Preventing Fire Cracker Injury
The Philippine National Police and the Department of Health have released the following do’s and don’ts:
1. Do light firecrackers outdoors, as they are potential fire hazards.
2. Do light one firecracker at a time.
3. Do not hold a firecracker while lighting it.
4. Do not pick up failed firecrackers, they can still explode.
5. When lighting fireworks like a fountain, do not bend directly over the pyrotechnic devices.
6. Do not throw firecrackers at passing people or vehicles. Do not allow children to hold firecrackers, especially the watusi and the piccolo.
But accidents do happen and sometimes, an injury still occurs despite all your care. Here are some things you can do if it happens:
1. For minor burns caused by firecrackers, let cool water run over the affected area.
2. Do not apply ointments or creams, since these may hold in heat and cause further damage.
3. Cover the injured area with a clean, dry cloth or bandage.
4. Seek medical attention immediately when an area larger than the size of the palm is affected, when the burn extends beyond the skin, or when the eyes are involved.
5. If a body part like a finger or a hand is directly hit by an exploding firecracker, cover the affected part with a clean cloth, try to stop the bleeding by putting pressure on it, and immediately bring the patient to the Emergency Room.
6. Ingestion of firecrackers like watusi warrants immediate medical attention. The holiday season can only be sincerely merry when it is accident free.
Each of us can do something to avoid experiencing tragic moments especially during the most wonderful time of the year. Let us not give in to the temptation and potential hazards of the bright lights and frightening sounds of these pyrotechnic devices. Let us all enjoy a truly merry and blessed Christmas and a wonderful, promising New Year. –

🦠 RSV is a highly-contagious virus that can infect the respiratory tract, especially in infants and young children. Recognizing the early signs of RSV is crucial, as they can be mistaken for a common cold. Learn the symptoms, stay informed, and protect your precious bundles of joy. 🤱
Here are some key points about RSV:
1. **Transmission:** RSV spreads through respiratory droplets when an infected person coughs or sneezes. The virus can also live on surfaces for several hours.
2. **Symptoms:** In older children and adults, RSV symptoms often resemble a cold, including a runny or stuffy nose, cough, and fever. In young infants, it can lead to more severe symptoms like difficulty breathing, wheezing, and sometimes pneumonia.
3. **Seasonal Pattern:** RSV infections often occur during the fall and winter months, creating a seasonal pattern similar to that of the flu.
4. **High Risk Groups:** Infants born prematurely, those with congenital heart or lung conditions, and individuals with weakened immune systems are at a higher risk of developing severe RSV infections.
5. **Prevention:** While there is no specific vaccine for RSV, preventive measures such as handwashing, avoiding close contact with sick individuals, and maintaining a clean environment can help reduce the risk of infection.
6. **Treatment:** There is no specific antiviral treatment for RSV, but supportive care, such as oxygen therapy and IV fluids, may be necessary for severe cases. In some situations, antiviral medications may be used.
7. **Impact on Healthcare Systems:** RSV can lead to a significant burden on healthcare systems, particularly during peak seasons, with increased hospitalizations, especially among infants.
8. **Ongoing Research:** Researchers continue to explore the development of vaccines and antiviral medications to address RSV, given its impact on public health, especially in vulnerable populations.
It's important for parents and caregivers to be aware of the symptoms of RSV, especially in young children, and seek medical attention if they observe signs of severe respiratory distress.
Regular pediatric check-ups and staying up-to-date with immunizations are super important for our little ones! Think of it like giving them a strong shield against all those pesky illnesses. It's like giving them superhero powers to fight off diseases! So, let's keep those appointments and keep our kiddos safe and sound! 😊

🦠Hand Foot and Mouth Disease Awareness💡
Hand, foot, and mouth disease (HFMD) is a common viral illness that primarily affects young children. It is characterized by fever, sore throat, and a rash with red spots or blisters on the hands, feet, and sometimes the buttocks. While HFMD is usually mild and self-limiting, there are several reasons why it is important for children with HFMD to be seen by a pediatrician:
1. **Accurate Diagnosis:** A pediatrician can confirm the diagnosis, ruling out other similar conditions, and provide guidance on managing the symptoms effectively.
2. **Monitoring Severity:** While most cases of HFMD are mild, some children may experience more severe symptoms or complications. A pediatrician can assess the severity of the illness and provide appropriate medical advice.
3. **Pain Management:** HFMD can cause painful mouth sores, making it difficult for children to eat and drink. A pediatrician can recommend pain relief measures and, in severe cases, prescribe medications to alleviate discomfort.
4. **Preventing Dehydration:** Due to sore throat and mouth sores, children with HFMD may refuse to eat or drink. Pediatricians can monitor for signs of dehydration and provide guidance on ensuring the child stays hydrated.
5. **Preventing Spread:** HFMD is highly contagious. A pediatrician can educate parents on how to prevent the spread of the virus to others, including proper hygiene practices and when it is safe for the child to return to school or daycare.
6. **Managing Complications:** While rare, HFMD can lead to complications such as viral meningitis. Pediatricians can recognize signs of complications early and provide necessary medical intervention.
7. **Reassurance for Parents:** Seeing a healthcare professional provides reassurance to parents, knowing they are following the right course of action and ensuring their child's well-being.
In summary, consulting a pediatrician when a child has HFMD is crucial for accurate diagnosis, appropriate management of symptoms, prevention of complications, and guidance on preventing the spread of the disease to others. It also offers peace of mind to parents during a challenging time.
Getting the pneumonia vaccine in children is crucial as it helps prevent severe respiratory infections caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae bacteria. Pneumonia can be life-threatening, especially for young children with underdeveloped immune systems. Vaccination reduces the risk of pneumonia, hospitalization, and complications, ensuring a healthier childhood and potentially saving lives.
Book and appointment with our doctors to update your child’s immunizations. Prevention is always better than cure!
