Today, we are celebrating the memorial of St. Paul of the Cross. Paul’s devotion to Christ’s passion must have seemed eccentric if not bizarre to many people. Yet it was that devotion that nurtured Paul’s compassion and supported a preaching ministry that touched the hearts of many listeners. St. Paul of the Cross dedicated his life to helping people remember how Jesus showed His love for us through His passion.

As we all commemorate the memorial of St. Paul of the cross, may we also thank God for His stupendous work—His most overwhelming work that can be seen at the cross.

As they embark on this new responsibility, as Altar Servers, your continuous prayers and guidance in this milestone are much appreciated. May the Holy Spirit strengthen them to serve the Lord with all their hearts and minds.

A heartfelt congratulations to our newly invested and installed brothers for offering themselves on this sacred journey of service at the Altar. Your dedication and commitment in serving the Church are truly inspiring.

As Pope Francis beautifully reminds us "Offer your hands, your thoughts, and your time and he will not fail to reward you, giving you true joy and making you feel where the most complete happiness is."

May you find joy, fulfillment in this Ministry, and may God Bless all of you abundantly as you continue to serve in His Altar!

The Fourth Sunday of Easter is traditionally called the "Good Shepherd Sunday", in which the Gospel about the Good Shepherd is read in Sunday liturgies. Also, during the Good Shepherd Sunday is also the World Day of Prayer for Vocations, praying for more shepherds that will lead the Body of Christ, the Church.
