I read the book “Lovely Bones” by Alice Sebold and I also watched its movie adaptation. It was about a 14-year old girl who was r***d and murdered in 1973. The story is narrated by the girl named Susie Salmon, the one who was r***d and murdered, who was not willing to let go of her murderer, her former life, and her family. She wanted to avenge her death so much. She gave signs that might lead to the evidences the police will find helpful during the investigation. She wanted her family to know who the culprit was by the waves of the winds and other forms of warnings.

This book talks about loss of a family member and how the death of a loved-one shattered them, broke them, and made them all crazy but all the more, how they hold each other during the times of grief.

The story reminds us to cherish our connections and to always give importance to the single unit of the society – our family.

It talks about feeling all the sadness in the world but not closing yourself off just because you thought the sadness would diminish by completely ignoring the emotion.

It tells us that we are never lost to those who truly love us.

Lastly, it emphasized that letting it all go is also an act of bravery.
