CerviQ Community
This is a community group wherein all CerviQ patients and non-patients are welcome to join and participate.
The Baguio City Health Services Office recently hosted an essential initiative to improve community health. In collaboration with CerviQ, Dynamic People's Network (DPN), Rotary Club of Baguio Highlands, Rotary Club of Makati F. Zobel, and the Cancer Warriors Foundation, Inc., the "Silip Cervix Sagip Buhay: Capacity Building" program was officially launched. [Original Article @

The program focused on enhancing the knowledge of cervical cancer, its causes, and prevention methods including HPV vaccination guidelines, and various screening approaches. A key element introduced was the use of portable digital colposcopes, supported by artificial intelligence, to streamline the screening process. The advantages of using a colposcope over traditional methods include magnification for more accurate evaluations, the ability to document through cervical imaging, remote assessments by physicians, and faster communication of results to patients.
After the didactic sessions, participants engaged in hands-on training, enabling them to apply the knowledge gained in real-world scenarios. The training emphasized the use of a portable digital colposcope, supported by artificial intelligence, which aids in more precise visual inspections and offers several benefits over traditional screening methods. This technology provides magnification for better evaluations, enables cervical imaging for documentation, allows remote assessments by physicians, and facilitates faster communication of results to patients.
To further enhance their skills and practical experience, participants were invited to attend the upcoming Pasadang Pambarangay at the Mines View Health Center and the Gibraltar Health Center. This event will allow them to put their training into practice and provide essential cervical screening services to more women in the community.
This initiative aimed to empower health professionals in Baguio by equipping them with crucial skills to improve cervical cancer screening. During the afternoon training session at the Baguio City Health Services Office, healthcare workers gathered to enhance their expertise and strengthen their impact on the community's well-being.
The collaboration between these organizations reflects a shared commitment to improving cervical cancer screening and prevention in Baguio. By providing advanced education and training, the program seeks to close healthcare service gaps, particularly in the early detection of cervical cancer. Early detection is critical, as cervical cancer is highly treatable when identified in its initial stages.
Through this capacity-building effort, Baguio's health professionals are now better equipped to offer improved cervical screening services, which will enhance healthcare quality in the region, reduce cervical cancer rates, and save lives.
Led by the efforts of Doc. Bogs Rivera from CerviQ, this program demonstrates the power of investing in local healthcare training. The "Silip Cervix Sagip Buhay" initiative is paving the way for a healthier future for the people of Baguio.

Following the success of the awareness campaign “Sagip Cervix Webinar,” held August 21 via Zoom and hosted in collaboration with 16 other JCI all-female clubs, JCI Makati Princess Urduja President Rach Aurelio is spearheading a call to action for improved cervical cancer screening and awareness initiatives.

Nearly 100 participants joined the event, underscoring the growing momentum behind this vital cause.
JCI Makati Princess Urduja Champions the Fight Against Cervical Cancer 2
In her powerful statement, Ms. Aurelio emphasizes:
“The urgency to raise awareness and broaden access to cervical cancer prevention measures cannot be overstated. This preventable disease continues to devastate thousands of women each year, despite the availability of effective screening and vaccination options.
Regular screening and HPV vaccination hold the promise of drastically reducing the incidence and mortality of cervical cancer. However, awareness and access remain dangerously low, especially in underserved communities.
Cervical cancer is the third most common cancer among Filipino women, with 8,500 new cases and 4,300 deaths reported annually (Globocan, 2022). Globally, it is the fourth leading cause of cancer death among women, claiming over 311,000 lives in 2018, according to the World Health Organization.
These alarming statistics are a call to action. We urge lawmakers and health officials to step up efforts to increase awareness, expand access to screening programs, and promote widespread HPV vaccination. The potential to save lives is enormous, and we must act now.”

Kudos to all of you!!! 🥰🥳👏🙏
Congratulations! Brgy. Lalakay, Los Baños, Laguna for a successful day 2 of FREE Cervical Screening.

BAYANIHAN PARA SA KABABAIHAN: A Celebration of National Women's Month in Silang Cavite
March is not just a month; it's a celebration of the resilience, strength, and achievements of women worldwide. In Silang Cavite, this year's National Women's Month was marked by a groundbreaking event at the Rural Health Unit in Bulihan Cavite. It wasn't just a typical gathering; it was a testament to the community's dedication to women's health and well-being.
At the heart of this celebration was the introduction of the first artificial intelligence-assisted Cervical Cancer screening, aided by a colposcope. This technological advancement promises more accurate and efficient screenings, providing early detection and potentially saving lives. It's a step forward in the fight against cervical cancer, empowering women with knowledge and proactive healthcare.
But the event didn't stop there. It offered a comprehensive range of services tailored to address various aspects of women's health. From Breast Examinations to HIV testing, Medical Consultations to the distribution of Free Prenatal Vitamins for Pregnant Mothers, every service was designed to prioritize women's well-being at every stage of life.
Recognizing the importance of menstrual hygiene, Free Sanitary Napkins were also provided, ensuring that no woman in the community has to compromise her health and dignity due to lack of access to basic necessities.
Moreover, the event went beyond physical health, offering Free Legal Consultations to address any legal concerns that women might face. Access to justice is fundamental to women's empowerment, and providing this service demonstrates a commitment to supporting women's rights and safety.
Additionally, Free vaccinations of tetanus toxoid were administered, ensuring that women are protected against preventable diseases. It's a reminder that women's health encompasses more than just reproductive health; it's about holistic well-being.
The atmosphere at the event was one of solidarity and support. Women from all walks of life came together to prioritize their health, breaking barriers and challenging stigmas surrounding women's bodies and health issues.
In a world where women's health is often overlooked or neglected, events like these serve as beacons of hope and progress. They remind us that every woman deserves access to quality healthcare, regardless of her background or circumstances.
As we reflect on this year's National Women's Month celebration in Silang Cavite, let it serve as a reminder of the work that still needs to be done. Let it inspire us to continue advocating for women's rights, health, and equality in every corner of the world. Because when women are healthy and empowered, entire communities thrive.

Free Cervical Cancer Screening: Empowering Women's Health in Barangay Rosario,Pasig City
March is National Women's Month, a time to celebrate the achievements and contributions of women across the globe. It's also a crucial opportunity to raise awareness about women's health issues and promote access to essential healthcare services. In line with this, the Wheel Club of Bacoor is proud to sponsor a free cervical cancer screening program for the beneficiaries of Barangay Rosario in Pasig City. Cervical cancer is a preventable disease, and early detection through screening can save lives. By offering this service, we aim to empower women in Barangay Rosario to take charge of their health and well-being.
The Importance of Cervical Cancer Screening:
Cervical cancer is the 2nd most frequent cancer in the Philippines, but it is also one of the most preventable. Regular screening tests can detect precancerous changes in the cervix before they develop into cancer. Early detection allows for timely intervention, significantly improving treatment outcomes and reducing mortality rates. However, access to screening services remains a challenge for many women, particularly those in underserved communities.
The Inner Wheel Club of Bacoor District 381 - represented by District 381 District Secretary Jelyn Laosantos Maliksi, Ms. Shareen Jardin Cayanan, Charter President Mico Reyes, Ms. Ola Dela Cruz, in partnerhsip with Kapitan Ely Dela Cruz, Kagawad Karen Cruz, Kagawad Ryan Zeta, Kagawad Angie Roldan, Kagawad Analyn Santos and Kagawad Grace Sta Ana of Barangay Rosario - recognizes the importance of promoting women's health and addressing barriers to healthcare access. That's why we are partnering with healthcare professionals and local authorities to provide free cervical cancer screening to the women of Barangay Rosario.
The club and barangays initiative aims to raise awareness about cervical cancer and the importance of screening, provide access to quality screening services for women in Barangay Rosario, educate women about risk factors, prevention strategies, and available treatment options, and to empower women to prioritize their health and well-being.
The screening was conducted under the supervision of Dr. Bogs Rivera, founder of CerviQ, using state-of-the-art equipment - Artificial Intelligence-assisted Visual Inspection aided by a colposcope to ensure accurate results. Participants will also have the opportunity to receive counseling and ask questions about cervical cancer and related health concerns.
As we commemorate National Women's Month, let us reaffirm our commitment to promoting women's health and well-being. By offering free cervical cancer screening to the women of Barangay Rosario, Pasig City, we are taking a significant step towards preventing cervical cancer and saving lives. Together, we can empower women to prioritize their health, access essential healthcare services, and lead fulfilling lives.

Recognizing the importance of women's health and well-being, this initiative aims to empower women by providing them with access to crucial healthcare services.
Cervical cancer is a significant health concern globally, but regular screening can detect precancerous changes early, leading to timely interventions and improved outcomes. Unfortunately, many women, particularly in underserved communities, lack access to such screenings due to various barriers.
Cerviray AI is a state-of-the-art handheld digital colposcope that is designed to take magnified images of the cervix and analyze them using artificial intelligence technology. This device offers several benefits, including high accuracy in detecting cervical abnormalities, as well as providing immediate results. Through this program, women in Noveleta, Cavite, regardless of their socioeconomic status, can avail themselves of FREE cervical screening services at no cost. By removing financial constraints, we strive to ensure that every woman has the opportunity to prioritize her health and receive the necessary preventive care.
Moreover, beyond the medical aspect, this initiative emphasizes education and awareness. Women will have the opportunity to learn about cervical health, risk factors for cervical cancer, and the importance of regular screenings. Empowering women with knowledge equips them to make informed decisions about their health and take proactive steps toward prevention.
This endeavor embodies the spirit of Women's Month, which celebrates the achievements and contributions of women while advocating for gender equality and women's rights. By prioritizing women's health and offering accessible screenings, Noveleta, Cavite, takes a significant step towards promoting the well-being and empowerment of its female residents. Together, let us prioritize women's health and ensure that every woman has the opportunity to live a healthy and fulfilling life.
