Academic Health Break

In light of the upcoming “Undas” Season, take note of the Academic Health Break for all levels across all OLFU Campuses.

Classes will resume on Friday, 3 November 2023.

OLFU emerged as a finalist in one of the ten categories of what is famously called the 'Oscars of higher education,' the Times Higher Education (THE) Awards Asia 2023 earlier this year

In total, the ten categories gathered nearly 700 submissions from 16 countries and territories across Asia. OLFU, as one of the educational institutions with a strong commitment to technological advancements and innovations, stood out and was recognized as a Finalist for the Technological or Digital Innovation of the Year Category Award; citing the University's MARVEL Facility or the Multiple Applications for Reality-Virtuality Experiences Laboratory as a big step in conducting an advanced approach in research and training.

In an awarding ceremony held on 21 June 2023 in Hongkong, the said award category was described as: “… technological breakthroughs that were conceived and developed at an institution or the innovative use of existing technology to improve a university’s operations and outcomes across any of its core functions”.

OLFU is Asia-Pacific Quality Network’s (APQN) Best/Model Internal QA Award Recipient!

This recognition highlights the dedication of the University to “quality assurance mechanisms and quality culture building”. It aims to showcase and share the outstanding internal quality assurance practices and experiences of OLFU to an even wider audience.

APQN is the largest and most influential international organization on higher education in the Asia-Pacific Region. Since 2013 it has been facilitating its Quality Awards to recognize and determine remarkable contributions and best practices of member institutions and individuals.

The 13th day of October 2023 is the 106th anniversary of the final apparition of the Blessed Virgin Mary to the three shepherd children —Lucia, Jacinta, and Francisco— in the small village of Fatima in Portugal in 1917.

In celebration of the Feast of Our Lady, two Holy Masses will be celebrated tomorrow, 13 October 2023 in OLFU Valenzuela. First Mass is at 9:00 am at the Assembly of the RISE Tower, and another one at 12:00 noon at the University Chapel of the Main Campus.

The Eucharistic Celebration at the University Chapel will be followed by the Holy Hour with Chaplet of Peace and Confessions.

The number 13 is frequently connected with Fatima for several reasons. For instance, when Our Blessed Mother made her apparitions at Fatima, Our Lady appeared each time on the 13th of the month with the exception of August.

In celebration of the 13th Day Devotion to Our Lady of Fatima, a Holy Mass will be held tomorrow, 13 September 2023, at 12:00 noon, at the University Chapel located at the CAS Building of OLFU Valenzuela Main Campus.

This will be followed by a Eucharistic Adoration praying the Chaplet of the Angel of Peace. There will also be Confessions during the Holy Hour.

OLFU Suspension announcement for Valenzula, Quezon City, Antipolo and Pampanga campuses.

Class Suspension Update for Thursday, 31 August 2023

For OLFU Campuses above, classes across all levels are suspended on Thursday, 31 August 2023. This is aligned with announcements emanating from the local government units which have jurisdiction over the cities where the said campuses are located.

Take note:

1. OLFU Valenzuela- Online synchronous classes and assessment tasks are likewise suspended as per the LGU.

2. OLFU QC, Antipolo, and Pampanga- Online, synchronous classes will carry on as directed by teachers. However, assessment tasks to be carried out online will be suspended.

3. Do asynchronous activities from home. Check Canvas for teacher instructions, or continue to do homework, readings, projects, or review notes.

3. All offices will remain open to serve.

4. The OLFU Concierge will likewise be available online.

The OLFU College of Computer Studies (CCS) across the campuses met for the SOCI planning of 2023-2027 which was led by the University SOCI Director, Mr. Dexter Basunillo in the morning. It was attended by the College Dean, Program Heads, Practicum Coordinators and SOCI Coordinators.

In the afternoon, it was followed by a joint meeting of Program Heads and Practicum Coordinators with the College Dean for the planning of Academic Year 2023-2024.
