Taal volcano is still placed on Alert Level 1 after it released a volcanic smog today Monday, August 19, 2024.

A volcanic smog is a visible haze comprised of gas and an aerosol of tiny particles and acidic droplets created when sulfur dioxide and other gases emitted from a volcano.

Volcanig Smog poses a health hazard by aggravating preexisting respiratory ailments as particles can also pe*****te deep into human lungs when expose and inhaled and can cause asthma, difficulty breathing, sore throat, watery eyes and may affect our lungs.

Please be guided witht the precautionary measures below.

This sanctuary isn’t just a home for dragonflies; it’s a symbol of our shared responsibility to protect the environment and instill in our children the values of care, respect, and stewardship for the world around them. This is also a big part of SMACV support to Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) # 3- Good Health and Well-being, # 14- Life Below Water, and 15-life on Land.

Why Dragonflies?

You might wonder, why dragonflies? These incredible creatures are more than just symbols of beauty and grace. Dragonflies are vital indicators of a healthy ecosystem. Their presence tells us that the environment is thriving, that the water is clean, and that nature is in balance. By creating this sanctuary, we are not only protecting these fascinating insects but also they help us by controlling pests like mosquitoes.

Now, we would like our Marian Angels to become the " Guardians of Nature."

We are excited to share that Saint Mary's Angels College of Valenzuela Inc. recently hosted a successful visit from Scholastic International Education, Singapore. Our school was chosen as one of the few institutions for a benchmarking visit, and we are proud to report that our best practices in Mathematics were highlighted during this event.

During the visit, we had the honor of welcoming three distinguished visitors from Canada, Singapore, and India. They observed our grade 3 class and conducted in-depth interviews with our teachers, focusing on the strength of our Prime Math Program, which has been a cornerstone of our curriculum.

Special thank you goes to Teacher Marge and her Grade 3 - St. Josemari class for their active participation during the visit.

We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Scholastic Philippines for their unwavering support of our Prime Math Program over the past 10 years. The partnership has been instrumental in helping us achieve the level of excellence that was recognized during this visit.

The visiting delegation was deeply impressed by our students' skills and the innovative teaching methods employed by our dedicated staff. This achievement reflects the hard work, commitment, and collaboration between our teachers, students, and parents.
