Stray Dogs Off The Streets
This page show people the dangers that stray dogs holds and the solution for the increasing number of stray dogs
The Campaign to Save Stray Dogs
Solving these challenges (for dogs, people, and the environment) requires a much deeper understanding of dog demographics and the approaches that reduce suffering and increase well-being in the communities. It also requires greater cooperation among the organizations seeking to develop humane solutions. While a growing number of local, national, and international animal organizations are providing direct care for both homeless and homed dogs (such as sterilization and vaccination services), no one organization has been tracking these efforts or their impacts. As a result, we do not know what was working or was the most cost-effective. Until now . . .
The outcome of this Campaign will include a reduction in the homelessness and suffering of dogs and the spread of more humane communities across the globe. Data collection leads to better information and more reliable assessments of what needs to be done, hopefully (politics permitting), to more effective and successful interventions for dogs and people.
RABIES KILLS!
At the time a potentially rabid animal bites you, there's no way to know whether the animal has transmitted the rabies virus to you. It's common not to find bite marks, too. Once a rabies infection is established, there's no effective treatment. Though a small number of people have survived rabies, the disease usually causes death. For that reason, if you think you've been exposed to rabies, you must get a series of shots to prevent the infection from taking hold.
What you can do in the meantime:
Wash your wound gently and thoroughly with soap and generous amounts of water. This may help wash away the virus.
If the animal that bit you can be contained or captured without causing more injury, do so. Do not kill the animal with a blow or a shot to the head, as the resulting injuries may make it difficult to perform laboratory tests to determine whether the animal has rabies.
Tell your doctor that you have captured the animal that bit you. Your doctor may then contact the local health department to determine what to do with the animal.

NEGATIVE IMPACTS OF STRAY DOGS
According to Lyu (2015), stray dogs have many negative impacts on city environment and human health. Stray dogs cause noise pollution, f***s garbage and traffic accidents. Stray dogs can cause a collision when dogs run into the road, which might even result in injury to other people and also to itself. Moreover, stray dogs have become a bigger threat to human health and lives. Stray dogs can transfer and spread Rabies a deadly disease. The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that there are more than 200
million stray dogs worldwide and that every year, 55,000 people die
from rabies.
There are many causes for the stray dog problem. The most
important reason is abandonment behavior by residents. A great
numbers of dogs were abandoned by their owners for some reasons, such as family tragedies moving and getting married, sickness and intolerable physiological characteristics of pets, no money for treatment, unwilling to continue feeding.
