ORIENTATION FOR SATELLITE REGISTRATION
COMELEC IN CONNECTION WITH THE MAY 12, 2025
NATIONAL AND LOCAL ELECTIONS (NLE 2025) TO PDL OF IDJMD

Today at 9:00 AM, SJO3 Romel G. Torres from the Unit PRM/OPNS and JO3 Marcis Dave Tapayan, Paralegal Officer, conducted an essential orientation in preparation for the upcoming COMELEC Satellite Voters Registration scheduled for August 12, 2024.

During the session, SJO3 Torres provided a comprehensive discussion on key provisions of the Omnibus Election Code and other related registration and election laws. He highlighted Sections 13 and 14, which specify who is qualified and disqualified to register during the COMELEC Satellite Registration. This information is crucial for ensuring that all eligible individuals understand the legal framework governing voter registration.

On the other hand, JO3 Tapayan focused on the importance of voting rights for Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL). He emphasized the significance of their participation in the registration process and their right to vote. The orientation aimed to empower the PDL by informing them about their rights and encouraging them to be active participants in the electoral process.

Ipil District Jail Male-Dormitory, under the supervision of JSUPT NATHANEL L ALJAS, Conducted an "Information Drive on End Local Communist Armed Conflict (ELCAC) through lecture, film viewing and giving of leaflets Program, to one hundred twenty-five (125) PDL at IDJ-MD Covered Court.

To fully support the implementation of National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (ELCAC) Campaign.

JO1 Joy M Alde, CRS JNOR discussed the presentation about ELCAC, and film viewing of video clips related to the Balikloob Former rebels true story, after the discussion she gave (ELCAC).

This activity aims to influence the public to support the campaign of national government on ending local communist armed conflict. More so, it focuses on sharing awareness especially to the youth and community about the risks of getting involved with these conflicts.

Ipil District Jail Male Dorm proudly facilitated the Opening of Classes and Alternative Learning System (ALS) Orientation for SY 2024-2025 for our Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL) learners in collaboration with the DEPED-ALS Ipil District headed by Ms. Abeigael Licudan, ALS Coordinator. A total of 78 PDL learners, 28 from Elementary and 50 from Junior High, are now part of this empowering educational journey!

This initiative is a testament to the dedication and hard work of the Ipil District Jail Male Dormitory (IDJ MD) monitored by the ALS Focal Person, JO1 Muriel S Segovia. The efforts have made it possible for our PDL learners to access education and open doors to new opportunities.

Education is a powerful tool for change, and through the ALS program, we aim to equip our learners with the knowledge and skills they need to build a better future. The said activity aims to promote waste reduction, recycling and reuse and public awareness on waste management and environmental concerns. To help reduce the greenhouse gases and fight climate change and improving the quality of the natural environment.

Today marks a special milestone as we proudly supported 78 Elementary and Junior High Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL) learners by providing them with essential educational supplies! Thanks to the dedicated efforts of the Unit Welfare and Development Division, led by JSINSP CHARLENE T ALONSO, Chief UWD each learner received a notebook and ball pen to aid in their studies.

This initiative was brought to reality with the initiative of JO1 Murriel S. Segovia, JO1 Claine Mark E. Pariolan, JO1 Dezeree T. Cabala, and JO1 Joy M. Alde. Their dedication and hard work ensured that the supplies were distributed smoothly and effectively.

The enthusiasm and cooperation displayed by the IDJ-MD PDL learners during the distribution were truly inspiring. Ipil District Jail-Male Dormitory, under the supervision of JSUPT NATHANEL L ALJAS, conducted a " Buhay Ingatan, Droga'y Ayawan (BIDA) Program Information and Awareness, Drive " to sixty-nine (69) residents of Barangay Tiayon held at Barangay Tiayon Covered Court.

The information and wareness drive was led by JINSP EDGARDO E BITOON and was strongly supported by Hon. NOEL L. MANAGBANAG, the Barangay Chairman.

SJO3 Romel G Torres, Chief, Operations, delivered an informative presentation and provided an overview and Republic Act.9165 (RA 9165), also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, explaining it's legal implio and the penalties associated with drug-related offenses.

Press Release No.119-2024

In line with the 50th Nutrition Month Celebration 2024, JO1 Claine Mark E. Pariolan, Skills Enhancement Officer, and six dedicated personnel of the Ipil District Jail-Male Dormitory (IDJMD) conducted an informative training seminar on food handling and safety for 70 Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL). This year's theme, “Sa Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition Sama-Sama sa Nutrisyong Sapat para sa Lahat,” emphasizes the collective effort towards ensuring adequate nutrition for all.

The seminar aimed to educate the PDLs on the essential practices of food handling and safety, highlighting the importance of maintaining hygiene and preventing foodborne illnesses. By equipping them with this knowledge, the training sought to improve the overall health and nutrition of the PDLs, fostering a safer and healthier environment within the facility.

We commend JO1 Claine Mark E. Pariolan and his fellow UWD personnel for their dedication to enhancing the skills and well-being of the PDLs. Through such initiatives, we move closer to a healthier and more informed community.

In celebration of Nutrition Month 2024, the Welfare and Development Section of the Ipil District Jail-Male Dormitory (IDJMD) conducted a meaningful feeding program of "Arrozcaldo" at the IDJMD covered court. This activity, themed “Sa Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition Sama-Sama sa Nutrisyong Sapat para sa Lahat,” catered 70 Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL), specifically Senior Citizens, PWDs, and those without visitors.

The feeding program aimed to address the pressing issues of malnutrition, hunger, and food scarcity among the PDLs. By providing nutritious meals, the initiative underscored the importance of accessible nutrition for every individual, regardless of their circumstances.

The Ipil District Jail-Male Dorm recently collaborated with the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office-Ipil, led by Ms. Judelyn Cepe, to conduct an “Intake Assessment for PWD PDL.” This initiative aims to identify the needs of Persons with Disabilities (PWD) among the Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL) and provide them with the necessary assistance.

This partnership reflects our commitment to ensuring that all individuals, regardless of their circumstances, receive the support they need. By working closely with MSWD, we can better understand the unique challenges faced by our PWD PDL and offer targeted solutions to improve their quality of life.
