Let's make this Ramadhan, the month where we understand Qur'an.

"Paradise lies at the feet of your mother." (Ahmad, An-Nasa'i)
What better way of understanding Ramadhan but by ALLAH swt HIMSELF. Beautiful recitation and ayah of Quran, which highlights what purpose does Ramadhan serve:
1. First and foremost, to make us cautious of ALLAH swt. When we keep fast and avoid acts that nullify the fast, knowing ALLAH swt is watching us, that is an act of Taqwa (being cautious). This is a quality we should also carry outside of Ramadhan, to do acts which please ALLAH swt and to avoid acts which displease ALLAH swt and to ALWAYS know that HE swt is watching us.
2. Ramadhan is the month of Qur'an. One of the main goals of this month is that we develop a relationship with Qur'an by NOT just reading but by understanding it. Each one of us should try to understand as much as possible in this month, as Qur'an was sent down for our guidance so how can we get guidance if don't even know what is in the book?
3. ALLAH swt wants ease for us. Fasting may feel hard, but the ease and reward behind it we can not imagine.
4. Ramadhan should also teach us to glorify ALLAH swt and be grateful to HIM swt. We have to experience hunger to be really able to appreciate the RIZQ ALLAH swt gives us every day (which we take for granted).
May ALLAH swt enable us to fast this month, connect with HIS book, and become HIS grateful servants. Ameen!
