Our research indicates the distribution of sales across food and beverage categories, highlighting that essential food staples such as pulses, beans, flour, dry oats, rice, and sugar make the most significant contribution. Following closely are sales of edible oils, dairy products, beverages, and confectionery items.

As per our research, snack items rank as one of the top-selling categories in traditional retail, with biscuits emerging as the most demanded product, accounting for a substantial 57% of overall sales.

Our research shows a 6% increase in prices of 1 litre of vegetable oil & ghee. This rise is directly linked to food inflation that has been at a surge as observed in recent months. Vegetable oil, a staple in almost every household for cooking purposes, ranks as the second highest category sold in retail sales. While prices have experienced a significant 12% increment during Ramadan compared to January, they have since stabilized at an overall 6% increase.

Our findings reveal a sustained dominance of local ci******es, attributed to many factors such as pricing. Notably, imported cigarette sales have seen a slight surge in recent months. Can you identity the reasons for this shift?

As one of the highest-selling categories in traditional trade, wheat flour plays a crucial role in calculating Food Inflation. Our research shows an increment of 14% in prices of wheat flour since January 2023. The chart below shows the ranges of unit prices for wheat Flour – 5 KG - across Karachi. The trend in July indicates another push in unit price increase.

Under this agreement, customers will gain direct access to a wide range of ticketing options, including movie, car, bus, flight, and railway tickets. The merging of Bookme's e-ticketing service into the SnappRetail app will be offering an unparalleled level of convenience and choice for users.
