Join us at Spaces Gallery to see and support the vibrant and colorful paintings created by the students from "The Garage School".
April 2nd 5 PM onward

The creative side of the "Art to Spark Hope" workshop began with a "Flag-of-me" exercise. Dedicated mentors Samreen Sultan, Kehkashan Khalid, Minelle Gaya, Sadaf Yacoob and Faiza Ali assisted this project for the kids.
Each child was given a piece of paper with the shape of a flag printed upon it and asked to create something that defined them. A flag that represented themselves.
Sawera proved herself to be a magician with crayons. She created her flag by using a unique etching technique atop layers of colorful crayons to draw these abstract mosque pillars. She was chosen to participate in the dry media workshop and alongside her dedicated Mentors Samreen Sultan, Kehkashan Khalid, Minelle Gaya, Sadaf Yacoob and Faiza Ali, she learnt some more interesting layering techniques with oil pastels and drew her dream inventions; a car that could hover over water and a house that could exist in the clouds.
Join us at Spaces Gallery on 2nd April to see and purchase the bold artwork created by Sawera. All proceeds from your purchases will go towards The Garage School to help her achieve her dreams!

Art to spark Hope is the first ever community project of its kind where artists come together to impart their learning to low income students in Karachi, helping them create art masterpieces of their own, that depict their hopes and aspirations for the future.
This exhibition will display the product of all their hard work during the workshops and all the proceeds from sold paintings will go to "The Garage School" to further aid these children in the attainment of their dreams.
