𝐏𝐈𝐌𝐀 𝐖𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧 𝐖𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐒𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐖𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐆𝐚𝐳𝐚 𝐨𝐧 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐖𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧'𝐬 𝐃𝐚𝐲

On the occasion of International Women's Day, PIMA Women Wing joined a demonstration at the Karachi Press Club to express solidarity with the women of Gaza. Healthcare professionals from across the city came together to demand rights for the wounded women and pregnant mothers of Gaza, who lack access to anesthesia and proper medical facilities.

Participants displayed placards and banners advocating for the rights and welfare of women in Gaza as well as saluting the resilience and bravery of female doctors in Gaza who continue to provide medical care under challenging circumstances.

Central President of PIMA Women Wing Dr. Nasrat Iqbal, along with other senior officials including Dr. Azra Jameel, Dr. Aziza Anjum, Dr. Zakia Orangzeb, and Dr. Farrukh Abu Hazim, led the demonstration and emphasized the critical need for international support to ensure the protection and well-being of women in Gaza.

PIMA Women's Wing organized a cervical cancer awareness session at DHQ Hospital Mardan, under the supervision of Dr. Ayesha Gul, on February 16, 2024. The session commenced with a brief introduction to the topic, followed by a detailed discussion on the causes, symptoms, prevention, and screening methods associated with cervical cancer. Emphasis was placed on the importance of cervical screening throughout the session. Informative pamphlets were distributed to participants. Attendees exhibited a keen interest in the topic, actively participating and posing inquiries.

Here is the announcement for the 2nd session of the biweekly (every two weeks) virtual group discussion on medical ethics, scheduled for Thursday, February 15, 2024, at 9:30 PM. The session will be led by Prof. Dr. Anis Ahmed, a Social Scientist and Educationist, currently serving as the Vice-Chancellor of Riphah International University in Islamabad.

After conducting central-level workshops on contemporary issues in reproductive health practices from an Islamic perspective, the PIMA Women's Wing has extended the initiative to the unit level. The first program took place at Rawalpindi Razi Hospital on January 28th. This one-day seminar, attended by over 60 consultants, specialist gynecologists, family physicians in gynecology, postgraduate residents in Family Medicine and Radiology, comprised three talks and a panel discussion.

Dr. Shumaila Shareef, Professor, Gynecology Deptt. IIMC, Rawalpindi started the seminar with a thematic talk. Dr. Naveed M***i, Consultant Gynaecologist, discussed 'Assisted Reproductive Techniques: Latest Developments and Limitations.' Dr. Amatullah Zarreen, Professor and Former Principal/Head of the OB-GYNE Department at AIMC-JH Lahore, addressed 'Contraception and Elective Termination: Pragmatic Approach in Our Muslim Society.'

The seminar concluded with a panel discussion moderated by Dr. Naveed Butt, HOD Paediatrics, Alkhidmat Razi Hospital Rawalpindi.
