ذی الحجہ کو حج کرنے والے ذائرین چوں کہ میدانِ عرفات میں وقوف کے لیے جاتے ہیں،تو اس مناسبت سے ۹ ذی الحجہ کو "یومِ عرفہ" بھی کہہ دیتے ہیں۔ یوم عرفہ کی وجہ تسمیہ یہ ہے کہ جبریل علیہ السلام نے ابراہیم علیہ السلام کو تمام مناسک سکھلائے، پھر کہا أعرفت في أي موضع تطوف، وفي أي موضع تسعی، وفي أي موضع تقف، وفي أي موضع تنحر وترمي (کیا آپ جان گئے کہ کس جگہ طواف کریں گے، کس جگہ سعی کریں گے، کس جگہ وقوف کریں گے، کس جگہ نحر اور رمی کریں گے فقال: عرفت (تو انہوں نے جواب دیا کہ میں نے جان لیا) تو اس کی وجہ سے اس کو یوم عرفہ کہا گیا۔

چوںکہ اللہ تعالیٰ نے اپنی مرضی سے انسان کو عمل کااختیار دیا ہے، عمل کی طاقت اللہ رب العزت ہی دیتے ہیں، جب چاہیں اس قوت کو سلب کرلیں؛ اس لیے یہ کہنا کہ "آج سے پہلے جو ہوا اللہ کی مرضی سے ہوا، جو ہورہا ہے اللہ کی مرضی سے ہو رہا ہے اور جو ہوگا وہ بھی اللہ کی مرضی سے ہوگا" اس معنی کے اعتبار سے درست ہے۔ لیکن اس کا یہ مفہوم لینا کہ ’’انسان اپنے اعمال کا جواب دہ نہیں ہے، نیکی کرے یا بدی‘‘، یہ درست نہیں ہے، بلکہ انسان کو عمل کا اختیار دیا گیا ہے اور اس اختیاری عمل کاوہ اللہ کے سامنے جواب دہ ہے۔

یہ سورۃ الضحیٰ کی پانچویں آیت ہے۔ سورۃ الضحیٰ کی شان نزول کے حوالے سے روایات میں بیان کیا جاتا ہے کہ نبی کریم ﷺ پر تقریباً 15 دن سے وحی نازل نہ ہوئی تو لوگوں نے کہنا شروع کر دیا کہ اللہ نے نبی کو چھوڑ دیا ہے اور وحی کا سلسلہ بند کر دیا ہے۔ اس پر اللہ کی طرف سے یہ سورہ نازل ہوئی۔ لیکن اپنے سیاق و سباق کے علاوہ بھی یہ تمام امت مسلمہ کے لیے یکساں قابل عمل اور اللہ سبحانہ وتعالیٰ کی طرف سے ایک یقین دہانی ہے کہ وہ اپنے بندوں کو کبھی اکیلا نہیں چھوڑتا۔
