On this Science Day, the students of GECE organized an insightful nature walk within our campus, aimed at exploring the rich diversity of plants that thrive here. Participants engaged in identifying various plant species while delving into the fascinating realm of their medicinal uses.

The walk commenced with a 10-minute session of breathing exercises and meditation, setting a mindful tone for the exploration ahead. It concluded with a gathering over green tea, fostering conversations centered around the crucial theme of sustainability. Participants shared thoughts on the roles we can play individually and collectively to minimize our carbon footprint.

This experiential journey not only deepened our connection with nature but also provided a platform for meaningful discussions on environmental stewardship. We extend our gratitude to all who joined, contributing to an inspiring Nature Walk at GECE.

Even with more children attending school, Pakistan is struggling with a learning crisis 18/10/2023

Establishing a dedicated teaching cadre for foundational learning equipped with the latest tools, assessment techniques, and methodologies, such as Early Grade Reading Assessment (Egra) and TaRL, has the potential to revolutionise the design and delivery of instructions within classrooms. This effort could also redefine the role of assessments, which in the current regime primarily function only to promote students to the next grade with a superficial understanding of how well they grasped what they were meant to learn.

Even with more children attending school, Pakistan is struggling with a learning crisis Nearly four out of five children under the age of 10 in Pakistan struggle to read simple text. At the same time, only 51pc of students can solve a two-digit arithmetic problem.
