Sadiya Durrani had a charged session with Sindh Police last week where she taught The Thomas-Kilmann Conflict Mode Instrument (TKI) which is used by individuals and professionals to learn about how different conflict-handling styles affect personal and group dynamics. Ms. Durrani is committed to professionalizing the education sector for the last 20 years. Primarily devoted to the field of School Leadership, Mentoring & Early Childhood Education, she works with MNCs, parents and organizations committed to
elevating the education sector. Through The Training Lounge platform, Sadiya hopes to help
an increasing number of parents, teachers and leaders understand that learning flourishes best
through self-directed, experiential learning in relationship-driven environments.
During her training career since 2001, she has conducted numerous workshops & projects on
parenting, soft skills trainings, English language & communication skills with organizations
such as British Council, USAID, TRC, Haque Academy, Education Bay, Links School,
SZABIST University, MAERSK Pakistan, SHAN Foods, National Foods & Karachi Clubamong others. A firm believer of self-challenge and growth, she has worked on projects such as multi-grade teaching and textbook development for non-formal education with the Govt. of Sindh and worked for teacher development in various Govt. schools in Punjab. Ms. Durrani currently works as an Assistant Professor for the Department of Education at Szabist University, is leading a pre-school and is a Training Consultant with the British Council Pakistan. Being a peoples’ person with excellent communication skills, she actively
advocates child rights, pedagogical issue and raises educational debates on public and private
forums. Sadiya holds a Masters’ Degree in Educational Leadership from Macquarie University
Australia, a Post Graduate Certificate in Advanced Professional Studies from Scotland, a Masters’ Degree in International Relations from the University of Karachi and Professional.

In an effort to professionalize the Early Childhood Education (ECE) Workforce, we organized an ECE conference last week at SZABIST Karachi.
With insightful panel discussions and the focus being on the 1-year ECE Diploma being offered at Szabist, the event encouraged untrained inservice and preservice ECE teachers to get professional training in their field of work.

Recently, I had the pleasure of visiting Baku and exploring its academic community. As a university professor, I was impressed by the quality of education and the affordability of studying there. The city offers many excellent schools and universities, making it a safe and affordable destination for students seeking a well-rounded education.

During my visit, I met with various university officials and gained valuable insights into the educational landscape in Baku. As a parent myself, I'm considering it as a potential destination for my own daughters, and I want to share my knowledge and connections with other parents who are also seeking quality education for their children.

Although I'm not currently marketing any services, I'm considering starting a consultancy business with universities there to help my students and parents navigate the educational opportunities in Baku. I believe that by sharing my experiences and insights, I can help students find a pathway to succeed in their academic pursuits.

What does Disruptive Change mean to you?

It was indeed a pleasure to talk to an intellectually thoughtful audience on a profound topic such as *Self Disruption* at the 14th Annual Teacher Development Conference, FUTURIST @ Millennium Institute of Professional Development.

The benefits of Self Disruption at a personal level are mindfulness, growth and INTENTIONAL Disruption in ones life and the natural and sometimes thoughtless flow of where our circumstances, work and generally time takes us.

In businesses, the advantage of self disrupted leadership is a change or disruption that occurs due to innovation in industries, company's structure, or transformation in business models.

A concept worth exploring for people and organizations that seek continuous improvement in ones practices and market trends.

Self-disruption is a solo journey towards growth and self actualization that needs only you. It's an individualistic endeavor initially, but translates to helping others at the end of the process.
