Alvi Dental Hospital Premises Sealing

DENYING ACCESS TO MEDICAL TREATMENT & VITAL PATIENT RECORD

We're deeply concerned about the Sindh High Court's decision not to provide immediate relief for unsealing Alvi Dental Hospital, a vital healthcare facility serving hundreds of patients. The sealing of the premises by SBCA and SHCC has put patients' medical records and ongoing treatment at risk, potentially violating their human rights & access to medical care

Despite urgent appeals on Friday, Saturday, Monday & Tuesday to unseal the hospital, our requests to the High Court have been ignored. The SBCA and SHCC have failed to provide reasoning for their actions to instantly seal a hospital premises without any valid reasoning, which seem more to be driven by political motivations aimed at silencing an ex-President of Pakistan Dr Arif Alvi and his effort to earn an honest living

We are willing to address any concerns from government organizations, but denying access to medical care and essential records is an inhumane and a drastic measure.

Key Concerns:

— PATIENT CARE: Sealing the facility jeopardizes patients' medical records, X-rays, and ongoing treatment. Will we be compelled to re-expose all patients with RADIATION to continue any treatment?

— HUMAN RIGHTS: Denying access to medical care may violate patients' fundamental rights — how do we continue their ongoing treatment?

— LACK OF TRANSPARENCY: SBCA and SHCC have not provided any clear reasons for their actions — specifically the Health Care commission which has horribly violated their mandate as we are DULY COMPLIANT to all their codes since 2019

— ILLEGAL SBCA NOTICE: SBCA notice posted under which this premises was sealed mentions “Unauthorised Construction” which legally entails only extended construction or an unapproved building plan, but DOES NOT INCLUDE, unless they categorically mentioned, commercial activity being conducted on a residential plot - so the premise of their seal is grossly illegal

— There are dozens of businesses running in the surrounding neighbourhood including the ARMY PUBLIC SCHOOL and fully multiple functional businesses, none have been served any notice

— PLAINCLOTHES MEN: Reports of plainclothes men have been harassing many govt officers in the witch hunt against Dr Arif Alvi
